I was concered about which of the many Cardboards options available on the internet to buy. After LOTS of research I ended up choosing this options, the main worry should be the LENSES this is the most crucial part of the whole sets and I AM CARDBOARD packs the best ones you can get, I mailed them and they quickly answer me giving me a detailed explanation about the kind of lenses they use, how many different leneses they have tried and why they think this ones are the best. The cardboard it self its very good quality, machine cut perfectly and feels very sturdy and strong. My only complain would be the instructions, its actually very easy to assemble but the instructions are just some simple and not so clear diagrams drawn on the cardboard itself, I was worried about "cutting" some part (you have to do it, but I was worried to cut the wrong place or something) Anyways In the end the experience was great. Just a shame my Note 3 doesn't fit correcly, cant close the cover and part of the phone comes out from sides and top, still can watch the effect correctly but holding the phone on a weird position. Maybe a kinda bigger version for the very popular Note 3, OnePlus One, etc? (5.5"+ phones).

Great product - very similar to Google's I/O edition.
Pro:
-Sturdy cardboard
-High quality lenses
-Fits larger phones (such as the m8) without difficulty

Cons:
-People who wear glasses will likely need to modify it
-Comes with almost no folding instructions
-Picks up oils on face quickly - see below for my tips
Like other reviewers, I had some difficulty at first figuring out how it folded together - I handled it carefully in fear of bending something the wrong way, but for cardboard, it feels pretty sturdy. Watching a youtube video cleared up all my setup confusion, and it folded together quite nicely.
Size-wise, it has it's advantages and disadvantages. My HTC m8 fits well into it, with the speaker bars on the top and bottom sticking out the sides - that much is to be expected, I suppose, and did not affect the 3D aspect. However, since I wear glasses, it wouldn't fit comfortably on my face without setting my glasses askew - I fixed this by cutting some notches in each side.

It also soaked up the oils on my face pretty darn quickly, especially on the forehead and nose bridge areas. I solved this issue by putting an extra NFC tag I had laying around where my forehead pressed against the cardboard, and set it to open the Cardboard app when tapped, since this model doesn't come with pre-set up NFC. You're definitely going to want to put something between the lenses to stop the cardboard from immediately falling apart from touching your face - a piece of tape would probably even work fine.

Google cardboard is awesome. Great VR immersion, a peak into the future. For more cardboard experiences, get the ChromeVR app, and the VRCinema app from google play. I've found that those 2 are some of the best out there for Cardboard.

What fun! This is a perfect gift for the budding nerd in late middle school or high school. The assembly is a little confusing, but comes together just fine once you get the idea. Recent model smart phone required and there don't seem to be a lot of apps available (yet). Even my skeptical non-techie friends thought it was cool.

Holy smokes! Google has done it again. I haven't had an IT "wow" experience like this since Google released satellite images on maps.

My biggest concern was whether this viewer would work with my prescription glasses. The answer is yes, it works pretty well. The back of the assembled viewer (i.e., the part you look through) is about 5 1/2 inches across. My glasses are about 5 3/4 inches from side to side across the front of the glasses. The arms of the glasses stick out a little bit on either side (i.e., the 5 3/4 inches is mostly lenses but includes a little bit of glasses arm), so I was able to cut a small notch into each side of the viewer and slide the arm/side of my glasses into that notch. It works perfectly. I bet this would work for most people that do not have really large eyeglasses. But if your glasses are much wider than 5 1/2 inches (and if that extra space is taken up by the lens portion of the glasses, as opposed to a thin arm) then you might have trouble. But then again, you could probably just cut out a bigger notch and use black fabric to block any light that comes in.

Finally, I should add that my kids (4 & 6) got a kick out of this. They could both use it fine, except that the 6 year old kept trying to walk around while using it!

It works for IPhone 5S, in case you are wondering. There's no strap included. There's also very limited IPhone App that you can use. Most of which are way too simplistic. There is one app that is REALLY good. It's called Sisters: A Virtual Reality Ghost Story. It is free and it's not a game. It's like an experience. If you like horror stuff, this is it for you. I put on the headset and use headphones, the exp is really different from when you are just looking at it from a screen. I can see why Occular Rifts focused mainly on horror games and it does work. I know App just got a patent for their own headset piece this year. Hopefully that will promote app maker to make more of these VR apps. I am really looking forward to more horror apps.
