I love these for shearing back plants that require it after flowering, e.g., amsonia tabermontana, prostrate veronica, nepeta etc. Also for grabbing clumps of daylily leaves at the end of the season and removing them in one stroke.

Before weed-eaters,

Long before string trimmers were on the market, this was the tool my parents had me using to trim the parts of the lawn that the mower didn't get. It may have been designed for shearing sheep but it is a very versatile yard tool.

These came very quickly and were just the right tool to clip the grass among my flower beds where the weed eater would demolish my flowering plants. No battery to run down or electric cord in the way, just a snip snip and it's good to go!!

I am very pleased with the sheers . I have had several electric sheers to use on my shaggy dog in the past which frustrated me greatly . With these sheers I only rely on my grip . The sheers work well and best of all , my dog does not mind the haircut since the tool is silent !!! I should have bought the sheers in the first place . They save me $50.00 every haircut!!!
