A superior product to AM101 translator being sold at the same price or to any other in the same price range. Has Pinyin input methods, display and audio. The speech, whether Chinese or English, is very clear and the speed can be slowed to better understand the correct pronunciation. The volume can be controlled to overcome even the loudest background noise. The size is perfect to hold in both hands and easy to type into the QWERTY keyboard. The product is good for both English needing Chinese translation and Chinese needing English translation. Every English word or Chinese character can be audibly pronounced and looked up. Also has common conversation phrases in English and Chinese. Can be used for beginning users and even the most knowledgeable in Chinese and English needing translation and Chinese character checking. I use it as a dictionary and spelling checker also. Can't say enough good things about the product. I am really surprised of all it's capabilities. It must have a very good processor behind all this.
The customer service is very helpful and courteous. One important note is the unit does not come with written instructions. However, the customer service directed me to their web site: [...] from where you can download the user manual as not all functions are intuitive.
Overall this is a great product at a great price, would buy again if need. Was hesitant on buying as there were no reviews, but now that I have used it I have no regrets and know I made the correct choice. So far I can't can't complain about anything that this translator has to offer, and actually have found it has much more than I expected the more I use it.

We arrived in China two weeks ago and love this translator. We don't speak Chinese and English is pretty much non existent so we use it all the time. Very easy to use from English to Chinese, a bit more work the other way. Audio works very well too.
Only negative is that the instruction book did not come with the translator but is available online.
If you plan to travel to China, this is the one to get.

Not for Chinese to English
If you read or speak some Chinese and you're looking to translate a Chinese character into English do not buy this product. Half the time the result you get is pure gibberish.

Decent - for the money the best
