I was really disappointed when I bought the jewelry box. If I'd known how cheaply this was made, I wouldn't have purchased the item! I love the Twilight series, that's the only reason I bought the jewelry box.
The reasons you shouldn't spend money on this item:
1. It's made of cardboard
2. The mirror isn't real
3. The little spinning trinket is made of cheap plastic

It looks a lot better in the pictures than in real life.
The box is made of cardboard and the pictures are really cheap looking.
The locket is made of plastic and in the inside there is a picture of Bella and another of Edward that look like they were cut off out of a magazine. My $10 Twilight key chain is made of a better material than the locket.
I regret buying this cheap item.

I was very excited about this item and purchased extra to sell as the hype of Twilight grows. However, I openned the box to be extremely disappointed. It is very cheap looking, the locket is plastic, it looks like it comes from a little girl's princess set or something. Like another reviewer mentioned, I'm jut going to get the one from hot topic and ship these back.

As an adult Twilight fan, I too was interested in this item, thinking I could put my trinkets inside. I was so very disappointed when it arrived, box was made of a cheap cardboard (not wood like I expected), the hinge wasn't even, the locket is plastic with a sticker placed crookedly inside, the music itself even sounded like something from a child's toy. Being that the Twilight phenomenon appeals (and is marketed) to teens and older, I think Amazon could have done better at finding something worth the $$ they're charging.

This item is nice to look at but will not withstand use. Mine arrived with a chip out of the front cover and the hinges where poking thru on the back. Amazon was great about handling the return. To bad the box was not made of wood because I would have liked this item, but like someone said you get what you pay for. I would not recommend this item.

Luckily I was able to view this item in a store before purchasing it. The price for this piece of trash is absolutely ridiculous. I looked at several and they all had glue marks, the turning mechanism for the crest disc is not made well and will probably break in a short period of time. I was truly disappointed since I knew my stepdaughter would have loved to have this piece for her bedroom. Save your money and buy the smaller, plainer metal box with the pic on top.

I gave this to my friend's daughter for her 12th birthday. She was thrilled with it. As an adult, I thought the little locket was a somewhat cheesy looking, but she ooh'd and ah'd and as far as I know has worn it every day since. The music played well. It's not an "educational" item, and I wouldn't really call it a toy, either, but if you have a young girl who can't get enough of Twilight, this is for you.

I was excited to purchase this as a gift for my daughter for Xmas this year, for the price I thought that it should be fairly decent, boy was I surprised its a cheap cardboard that I wouldn't even purchase for my 6 yr old granddaughter. It is garbage and that is probably where its going to go. I would be ashamed to give it as a gift for anyone, I always thought Amazon had better items, shame on them for not screening better. Guess they don't care as long as they get their part of the pie.

I bought this as a birthday present for my daughter and thank goodness i opened it and checked it out before wrapping it and giving it to her. it is made of carboard (mine came scruffed up and with the latch bent so it doesnt even close)the wrods and pictures were faded, the "mirror" isnt even a mirror the "detachable locket" is made of cheap plastic that you would expect to come with a barbie doll. it plays MAYBE 15 notes of the song ( i know because my children made me learn how to play the song on the song so i have played it 1000's of times for them)o and the metal ones arent much better either, just a heads up

Since there's not as much commentary on the music that this box produces, I'll add that my research has shown me that it plays and loops exactly 13 notes from the entire song. I had considered buying it to gut it for the music box, but I found someone showing off theirs online and I don't think anyone could pay me to take the box off their hands. The segment of the song is so short that it gets annoying by the third loop and manages to repeat about 4 times per 10 seconds.

Not so much a "you get what you pay for" item (otherwise it'd cost about .50 or less) but one serious rip off for the $20 versus quality.
