5.0 out of 5 stars When you don't want to pull the hauler...
When going away for a weekend, or a month, and you just want the smaller bike without the hassel's of pulling the big hauler, then this hitch mounted rail is for you. I used it to carry my KLR650 and it did it very well. Over two thousand miles of use with no problems whatsoever. Just be certain that your hitch was designed for the load that you intend to carry. Great...

3.0 out of 5 stars It works
This items is very lightweight. It does fit our Suzuki 250, length wise, but the ramp is very short and I nearly had a heart attack when we put the bike up there - the tires are a little wider than the ramp would prefer and the aluminum rack bent under the 310 pounds. It held and it's an easy, inexpesive rix for hauling our bike but hard to get the bike up there.

Need something safe and secure to haul your dirt bike around, and dont want to give up the space of your suv to buy a truck.
This is what you need. Now I can haul my CRF450R to the track on Saturday. Spend the night in the back of my Explore. Then race on Sunday.
Hauled the bike once so far,and everything went smooth. Even with 2 less tie downs then recommended. The anti- roll bracket works great.
Over all I'am very pleased with Discount Ramps and the AMC 400 bike hauler.

CONS: 1) Anti-roll bracket is a bit of a pain to tighten with the wrench given.

2) I think the hauler should be shipped with the hitch pin. Mine was not.(bought a locking pin anyhow)

Very pleased with this carrier, it makes the job of loading and unloading a bike on your own a walk in the park. Can't really think of anything that would make this product better, it does exactly what it is supposed to. SPECIAL NOTE: Last weekend, I had my bike on this carrier and drove about 50 miles on gravel roads on the way to and from the trailhead in SW Colorado, and as the tires of my truck kicked gravel backwards, the gravel ricocheted off the carrier (and bike, maybe?) and absolutely peppered the back of my truck with hundreds of knicks to the paint (tailgate, bumper, even into the bed). If you mount this rack and plan to travel on similar roads, I highly advise adding mud-flaps or something else to your vehicle in order to mitigate this type of paint damage, as it was pretty heinous.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dirt Bike Carrier, February 21, 2011

I wanted a bike carrier for my 250 Kawasaki Enduro and chose the AMC 400 Lightweight Aluminum Dirt Bike Carrier to hang it on the back of my Grand Cherokee Laredo Jeep. I am glad I did. The only problem was with the Anti-Tilt Bracket which was defective right out of the box. I wrote a letter of dissappointment directly to Discount Ramps and they sent a new one to me at no charge. It works perfectly. Needsly to say, I am glad I did bussiness with them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solution to problem of getting the bike off the carrier., January 30, 2011
This review is from: AMC-400 Lightweight Aluminum Motocross & Dirt Bike Carrier for 2" Hitch Receivers
I have read many reviews regarding the problem of getting the bike off this type of stand. I have this exact stand and have been using this carrier for around 4 years and at first I encounter the same problem. Getting the bike off the carrier is a high reach for most average size adults unless you are 6' 6" tall and strong like bull.

My technique is not to pull the bike back and off the ramp but to put the ramp at the front side of the carrier and start the engine, put it in first and slowly power the bike down forward using the clutch.

I do have the lean the bike on the back of the truck first then push the front tire back an inch to slip the ramp in but its so easy once you do it twice. Trust me and good luck, you will enjoy the carrier 1000 times more.
One more thing, you do have to pay attention to leave enough room when you park your truck.

I also added trailer lights to the back to increase the safety factor.

Very happy with it. No more trailer for hauling a single bike, less toll and less gas used.

This ramp is extremely light. I have a KTM 250xcf and it hauls it no problem. not much wobble. There still is but not significant the anti wobble system is ok mine screwed in awkwardly but it works once its really tightened. I have a Lexus RX300 so maybe that's why. My hitch receiver might be a little shorter than normal.

I use it to carry a 150cc dirt bike every weekend on a 60 mile trip that includes 5 miles of open roads. It works very nice. I believe is not intended for open roads so I don't push it there. I'm an average 40 years old man and I can push my bike into the ramp and tie it without help. Once it's up the ramp, I lean the bike against the truck while I tie it up. It doesn't include straps or a pin for the trailer. When I'm done using it I can carry it on my shoulder and store it in a garage. The bolts to secure the bike broke when tighten to much but I could replace them very easily for shorter ones that resist better the torque. Colombia, South America.

great tool for what it is, no way could you go buy the materials and make one for cheaper. I've carried my bike on it (crf250)probably a thousand miles now. No problems. (vehicle is a new tahoe, clearance from back window is better than six inches)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great carrier for the money., February 23, 2011
This review is from: AMC-400 Lightweight Aluminum Motocross & Dirt Bike Carrier for 2" Hitch Receivers
I have had this carrier for two months and used it about 10 times. As of now I could not be more pleased with the stability and ease of operation. I have a CR250 that I carry on the back of a Ford Escape and would feel very comfortable driving long distances. I have not tried one of the more expensive designs but for someone on a budget I would recommend it highly.
