AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 3.1GHz 2x512KB Socket AM2 Dual-Core CPU

Ordered this CPU, after hours, this past week Tuesday and received it Saturday. That's fast considering it was processed USPS, regular mail. Also, it wasn't scheduled to deliver until the middle of next week, so I was pleasantly surprised when it showed up in my mail today.

This CPU is significantly faster than the AMD 4400, dual core, 2.3 Ghz CPU that it replaced. It's a night and day kinda' difference, so don't hesitate if your contemplating this CPU.

Also, make sure your MOBO is compatible with this chip or any chip you choose. This is the maximum chip for my AM2 Shuttle MOBO. It had vanished from the market for awhile, so I immediately jumped on it when I saw that it was available again.

I love this Processor..Of course, that may be explained by the fact that i upgraded from a 1.8 GHz Sempron processor. It runs great! Just update the BIOS for the motherboard, and your set! no installation cd needed! It runs my FSX beautifully! Thats all i could ask for lol!good stuff

THIS WAS AN UPGRADE FOR A INSPIRON 531. IT WAS RUNNING A AMD ATHLON 64X2 4400. THIS CHIP, 2 MORE MEGS OF RAM, AND A ATI 4350DMSB2 GRAPHICS CARD HAD THIS MIDDLE OF THE ROAD COMPUTER RUNNING AS FAST AS YOU COULD ASK FOR, WITH EYE P0PPING GRAPHICS. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMEND THIS CHIP TO ANYONE LOOKING TO UPGRADE.

Some pins were damage/bent on arrival. It works for the most part, I had to update my BIOS for the mother board (older MB) to reconize the CPU.
