5.0 out of 5 stars Enough for a workstation
This processor has enough power for a workstation at a great price, if you are into seriuos games maybe you have to consideer at least a three core cpu, but of course this is in case you are planning to put it together with a $200 video card, but in pair with a 8600gt it's a perfect match

After a 2 week wait the wrong item was delivered. Was adveretised as a socket 939 but came through as AM2. Could not find a way to get the correct replacement. What's up with that?

Simply amazing...have not had any issues as of yet. This is fast...I have not had to overclock it yet. It can handle anything I throw at it. I have set up a home theater and am using my computer to record HD tv shows and this CPU has not bogged down once. If you are on the edge think no further...buy this one!!

AMD did a great job and I really enjoy my M2 CPU. I had a flawless install and it just zooms. Sure there are faster CPUs but the price and speed just makes it that much sweeter. I do have a certain amount of brand loyalty but AMD has consistently given me what I needed for a price I could afford for many years.

Great processor, this is a low price processor but works great; 2.4Ghz of pure power, easily overclockable to 2.8Ghz (but this may void your warranty!).

Pros: Low price, good performance.

Cons: You must be careful when choose mobo and memory a wrong selection can decrease performance of this processor.

Great performance, good price, for the people who wants to run multiple things at the same time. Actually it works smooth on Linux and Windows

1.0 out of 5 stars pain, July 25, 2007
This review is from: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4600+ 2.4 GHz Processor with 89-Watt Power Socket AM2 (Personal Computers)
Amazon changed the discription here. I orderd socket 939 as advertised:

"AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4600+ 2.4 GHz Processor with 89-Watt Power Socket Number (939)"

It came as socket AM2!

It also took much longer to arrive then stated. I'm not sure if I will trust amazon to order computer parts again--big pain and I have to pay to return the product now--so I feel that I got ripped off here.
