5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent product, February 2, 2009
By
This review is from: AMD HD985ZXAGHBOX Phenom Quad-Core 9850 2.5GHz 125W L2-2MB L3-2MB Socket AM2+ CPU - Black Edition (Personal Computers)
This is my first AMD processor and I think it won't be my last. Set-up was a breeze and the price was right. I got a MSI motherboard (K9A2 Platinum AMD 790 chipset) and they seem to work good together.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good choice, March 3, 2009

This review is from: AMD HD985ZXAGHBOX Phenom Quad-Core 9850 2.5GHz 125W L2-2MB L3-2MB Socket AM2+ CPU - Black Edition (Personal Computers)
I choose this processors because it was cheaper option compared with Intel Core 2 Duo quad.

I've tested this with my new Asus M3N72-D MoBo and the performance is amazing, the temp is OK, not beyond of 42C, and I'm not tested it temperature with my new PW 850i LCS (liquid cooling system of thermaltake) yet!.

It was easy to install the processor itself and their heatsink and fan (including in this package)

I install Vista in only 35 minutes! compared with my older PC, this is awesome.

If you are looking for a good choice on cost/performance rate, then, buy this kind of processors.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just Cool, July 12, 2008

This review is from: AMD HD985ZXAGHBOX Phenom Quad-Core 9850 2.5GHz 125W L2-2MB L3-2MB Socket AM2+ CPU - Black Edition (Personal Computers)
The best performance on the market into an AM2+ Socket

I have nothing more to say. This is just cool. I run my computer with the extended monitor, in which I have a memory and CPU monitor tool.

When I play Crysis the CPU always keep under 25%. And when it loads it goes to 65%. It never goes to more tham that.

The only tool i used that almost used a 90% was 3ds Max. When i was preparing a short movie into the rendering mode it went to 88%.

As i told be4, there is nothing that can put this CPU over its knees.

Un gran precio para una excelente calidad. Lo he usado por más de 1 año y ha respondido sin inmutarse. La calidad de los procesadores AMD no tiene discusión.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great CPU!!!, July 22, 2010

Bought this for a build in early 2009. Am running it with 8 GB of memory on a Gigabyte board with on-board video and the stock cooler. Even after 1.5 years of 24/7 usage...it causes me no problems or issues at all. I don't overclock it or push it hard...except for processing video recorded from TV tuners from MPEG to AVI/MKV. Also run VMWare Player/Virtualbox with it with no issues at all. I never notice any slowdown under Windows 7-x64 from anything.

If you have a chance to get this processor with a barebones system that other retailers are selling...go for it. The 9850 is more than enough processor for anything you want to do. Once I can figure out how to have it make me breakfast or clean the house...it would be a match made in heaven.;)

so i shelled out the cash for this one, the website i had checked out insisted that my PC and this processor were compatible.

but my friends dad who i sold it to for 80 bucks likes it. a lot.
im jealous.

if you try to get an RMA on the AMD website the part number isnt even listed on there.
