Really solid for a budget build. I paired this (~$100) with a GIGABYTE GA-F2A88XM-HD3 mobo (~$70), a single 4GB stick of Kingston Hyper-X 2133mhz (~$45), Rosewill mATX Case PSU combo (~$40) and a Silicon Power 120GB SSD (~$50). For just over $300 this system is killer bang for your buck. I installed Windows 10 preview for now (and because it's free) and it's important to note, many of the best media, GPU and HSA features of these AMD APUs require Windows 8.1 or higher for optimal performance).

Although this APU is 10 core (4CPU+6GPU), this chip really is the BEST APU VALUE (January 2015). It's a Kaveri, so it takes advantage of AMD Mantle and supports Crossfire/Dual Graphics mode. The flagship A10-7850k costs an extra $50 (50% extra) and only boosts total processing (4 cores) by 7% and single threading (which is more important for gaming) by 3%. The extra 2 cores are GPU cores, however both GPUs are clocked at 720mhz and the 2 extra cores, in practice, typically only add 2-3 FPS in modern 1080p gaming. The extra $50 the A10-7850k costs would be better spent on an extra stick of ram or a 1TB HDD, depending on your needs.

By allocating 1GB to VRAM in the BIOS (the APU supports up to 2GB max allocation), this runs Skyrim at 1080p averaging 45 FPS on High Detail. Far Cry 3 runs even better, posting an average of 52 FPS on High. While the GPU and board technically support 4K, it's unlikely to perform serviceably for gaming purposes, though media playing (YouTube, Netflix, etc) should work well. For productivity, it runs LightWorks similar to my Mid 2012 Mac i5 2.5ghz mini with 8GB of ram and far superior to the 2014 base model Mac mini or iMac with the i5 1.4ghz and 4GB.

I recently bought this APU, an Asus A88XM-E motherboard, and 8GB of Corsair Vengeance Pro RAM. I wanted to upgrade my computer that way I could play Wasteland 2. I've been running the game at 1920x1080 and I have had no problems. I've been using the stock cooler and I haven't seen the temperatures break 130F

While most people flock to the more expensive A10, they forget that the sucker puts off a TON of heat and requires a big bulky aftermarket cooler that further drives up the price. According to "passmark" benchmarks, this performs just as well as older A10s for the same price, but uses less power and creates less heat, no need for anything except the compact included cooler. For any build under $350, you can't beat this. Make sure you pair it up with at least 8 gbs of ram, its gpu needs to share memory with the cpu.

Very good CPU and graphics speeds. Even tuned down to 45W mode, can run Warcraft at 1600 x 900, all good settings, at 38 fps minimum in towns and 100 fps max.

This is the best all-round processor from AMD at the moment. It is suitable for anything from a HTPC and office PC to a gaming desktop, assuming you use a dedicated graphics card -- all within 45W of energy. I have actually measured the energy consumption of a system built with this processor and, after stressing all cores, including the integrated GPU, the system consumes exactly 45W of energy out of the wall with a Gold-certified 450W power supply from Rosewill.

If you are building an office or home PC, this is the processor to get. The integrated graphics is powerful enough to render most games on at least low/medium quite well, so it's quite useful in a system that works heavily with graphics, such as image editors and painting applications. With OpenCL, one can easily obtain a serious boost in performance in applications like GIMP 2.10, Krita and Adobe Photoshop. If you're building a Linux desktop, this is the processor to get with first class support for open source graphics drivers with more capability than Intel processors.

This processor well exceeded my expectations. I bought it for an entry level gaming rig for my boys. It's been a while since I felt like anything put a strain on a CPU for me, so it's all about the graphics when building a system. At entry level, the other guys integrated graphics are simply lame, always. AMD sets and continually raises the bar on integrated graphics. The reviews say the A8-7600 will play most modern games at medium or low graphics settings...I don't buy the latest release of popular games for my kids, I run a few years behind. And I found that the A8-7600 will run 3 year old games at high settings. Makes since, right? I'm not paying bleeding edge prices for the system, so why buy the bleeding edge games for $60? Consequently I'm enjoying 3 year old bleeding edge performance with 3 year old games on a modern entry level, low cost system. This is a winning combination for me. I am blown away by this APU's performance! BTW, I'm booting from a hand me down 40gb SSD with an old 1tb HD. Snappy!

This is not a review for the chip, I have not bought it yet, but for the posted information here.

From my research, correct me if I am wrong, this is being falsely advertised, it is not 12 compute cores it is 10, with 4 being CPU and 6 being GPU not 8. The core speed is 3.1 with 3.8 being turbo. Just thought the consumer should know.
