4.0 out of 5 stars pretty good, February 14, 2001

This review is from: AMERICAN HERITAGE ESL IDIOMS DICTIONARY (PB) (Americam Heritage) (Paperback)
a have owned this dictionary for two months now and i have found it to be VERY up-to-date (when it comes to obsolete expressions) and helpful in reading modern US English literature. The reason i gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it's not the best for reading the idioms in classical books, again, due to the fact that the old idioms are not all included in this dictionary. overall, however, it is THE dictionary to buy if you want to learn a few idioms you could actually READ in the newspaper, HEAR in public, or NEED to USE in everyday speech. an extremely useful book, i recommend it.
