2.0 out of 5 stars Americans Moving To Canada, April 1, 2010
This review is from: AMERICANS MOVING TO CANADA - How To Move & What You Need To Know For Stress Free Settlement With Your Tax And Financial Planning Tips To Maximize Your Assets (Paperback)
If I had picked this up in a bookstore, I would have put it right back down.

I'm seriously looking for information, details, what I really need to know since my family WILL be movng to Canada. What I don't need - pages of gratuitous photos of bare breasted women embracing during the Annual Gay Pride Parade Toronto, ridiculous political cartoons that are just inserted with no explanation, sophmoric economic speculation about how the Canadian government should invest its economic surplus, cheese cake photos of women wrapped in hockey jersey, or wearing Canadian flag tee shirts.

This was originallly an eBook, probably with colored graphics - all through the book it states "Click here", or referring to a table reproduced in black and white - "In the table above the yellow bars represent . . . the green bars represent . . .", etc. So, all of this leaves the reader really frustrated - I wanted facts and information. Maybe they're here, but the presentation is seriously lacking.

Don't waste your money. I want mine back.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not a Proper Book, January 7, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: AMERICANS MOVING TO CANADA - How To Move & What You Need To Know For Stress Free Settlement With Your Tax And Financial Planning Tips To Maximize Your Assets (Paperback)
This "book" consists of little more than images and text ripped off from the Internet. Many of the images are in poor taste and appear to have been selected by a 13-year old boy. The book is unedited, disorganized and superficial. The only content of substance is random information cut and pasted from Wikipedia and Canadian government sites. Don't waste your money.

2.0 out of 5 stars Moving to Canada?, January 2, 2012
This review is from: AMERICANS MOVING TO CANADA - How To Move & What You Need To Know For Stress Free Settlement With Your Tax And Financial Planning Tips To Maximize Your Assets (Paperback)
I didn't really understand the point of this book? I think it was supposed to be useful information for those who are thinking about moving to Canada but I didn't really find any useful information in this book. I also did not understand why so many graphics are necessary in a book that is supposed to be informative especially since the pictures are not relevant to the subject of moving to Canada. I did not find this book helpful but that does not mean that someone else won't find it helpful.

This review is from: AMERICANS MOVING TO CANADA - How To Move & What You Need To Know For Stress Free Settlement With Your Tax And Financial Planning Tips To Maximize Your Assets (Paperback)
I'm a freelance tax accountant and there have been times where I have thought about moving to Canada. Even though I doubt I ever will, when preparing taxes here in MI I get a lot of folks wanting to know things about moving to Canada. In my quest to answer them I found this book. As an American this book will help those seeking to move to Canada determine if it is the right choice for them. If you decide to make the move this book will give you advice on how to bring your assets into Canada without losing it all to the IRS. Sadly there are some tax pitfalls when leaving the U.S., but being informed can keep you ahead of the game with the best results. I found this book to be extremely helpful in answering many money/ tax related questions my clients ask me.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy this book!, October 11, 2011

I recently purchased this book and I'll be contacting customer service asking for a refund.

This book appears to be a collection of articles that have been stripped off the internet (without attribution, whether permission was given is unclear) and pasted together poorly for a badly formatted book. There are also are a number of random canada related images, including a number of images with the "istockphoto" watermark showing they were not licensed (suggesting this book is infringing on the copyrights of others).

I hope Amazon takes action against this book and others from this author (I made the mistake of purchasing another of the author's canadian books) and revokes them from the kindle store.

This book is little more than a review of the Immigration Canada website. Go to www.cic.gc.ca and don't waste your money on the book. There is almost zero tax and financial guidance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Valuable and Authorative information for Americans Moving to North, August 5, 2009
This review is from: AMERICANS MOVING TO CANADA - How To Move & What You Need To Know For Stress Free Settlement With Your Tax And Financial Planning Tips To Maximize Your Assets (Paperback)
This is the most comprehensive readable how-to book I have seen for Americans on moving to Canada. It is practical and authoritative. It's a good investment and the perfect 'starter' book for anyone with thoughts of becoming an ex-pat by moving north of the border. This book is full of information on Taxation in Canada, all immigration categories/ process, gays and lesbians rights, health-care, justice system, education system, prices, housing, job market, useful address and links.

This book won't tell you everything you need to know to move to Canada, but it will get you started and tell you where to go for more information. The names, addresses, phone numbers and websites in this book will save you many hours of research. You could certainly research all this info on the Internet yourself, but it would be a bother.

This book is also fun to read, full of amazing pics that you will enjoy and would like to share with your friends. Check its table of contents for detail.
