5.0 out of 5 stars Great fun
I'm a bowling game junkie and I enjoy this game very much. I play it on downtime everywhere - thanks to the DS. The variety of characters and lanes are very fun, and give it a jump on the classic lanes of average games. 3.0 out of 5 stars Good as a time waster
My kids like this game because they like bowling. It is ok but seems to lack a bit of realism like that found in Brunswick Bowling for the PS2 (although you can learn to beat that game). Pin physics and ball physics could be better, however, there is enough variety in the features to keep one amused now and then.

The variety of characters and lanes are very fun, and give it a jump on the classic lanes of average games. The game includes an element called "Psyche Factor", which allows you to build up psyche points and use them on opponents. When you have high points in the Psyche meter, it can trigger special moves that almost always end in a strike. Cool stuff, and great game for the money.

1.0 out of 5 stars why no stylus???, July 12, 2008

as a huge fan of the bowling game in 'club house games', i was very excited and eagerly awaited the release date of this game. it HAD to be good -- well it is not! it makes zero use of the stylus, you aim with the D-pad and press A using an archaic power meter to throw the ball down the lane. what a total disappointment! clubhouse games is FAR better, dont waste your time with this one!

2.0 out of 5 stars Kids might like it, but older players will find it boring., February 2, 2010

The first thing that puzzled me about this was it uses the direction pad and buttons, and doesn't utilize the touch pad at all. Selecting how far left or right to stand and pressing a button once to start your power meter and then press it again at the level of power you want, is just really boring for a ten pin bowling game. The other thing is the amount of bowls, you bowl I think 5 frames, and that is the game. What is that about? Why is there no option for the regular frame length?

The character system is boring, tho kids might like it, but the whole process of this thing is just not needed for a bowling game. You can unlock a few more lanes, I think there is 8 in total, and each of them lose there fun factor after the first frame, as you see it when you first go to bowl, but once the ball is in motion, it's just the lane, there is not much point to that really, but i'm sure some people will find it cool.

Overall, it's the control system that bugs me, it is just too repetitive and once you figure it out, it's just the same thing every single frame you bowl. ZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz, and that's not a fly buzzing, it's me snoring from playing a game that is exclusive to DS and uses such a terrible way to control the throws.

1.0 out of 5 stars This is the worst bowling game I have ever played!, November 22, 2009
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: AMF Bowling (Video Game)
This game is really awful. I hate the music-but that can be turned off, thank goodness. But the game itself is utterly useless. I have never played such terrible bowling in my life. Every single shot i made the stupid computerized player always went past the line and faulted it, no matter if i bowled it soft or hard, fast or slow, left or right, he just slipped past the line and scored absolutely nothing.

I am never playing this game again. If you want a good bowling game: do the following: Buy a wii console with Wii Sports, and enjoy the bowling they've got on that. It's more realistic and you NEVER go past the fault line. Just DO NOT BUY THIS. You will be seriously annoyed by how rubbish this game really is.
