Horrible game!,

This is one of the worst games I have played in many years. I can't decide if my 1-word review of this game should be "horrible" or "abysmal".
Graphics are so lame I'd swear they were developed by some high school kid in computer class. Animation is choppy even at its best moments and laughably jerky at other times. You will laugh your head off when you see how the pins fall over - completely hokie and unrealistic. Whatever physics engine this game is using is either severely flawed or implemented incorrectly by the game's programmers. The controls (buttons) are the same as Wii Sports bowling, but far less responsive to the player's swinging motions and wrist input. Music/voices/sound are unprofessional, agonizingly repetitive and all recorded at different sound levels that don't mix well together. The player is further hampered/frustrated by constantly and repeatedly having to press the A button multiple times just to throw your next ball (even more so than Wii Sports Bowling). An absolutely amateur attempt to make a console game. Looks like another hunk of Wii "shovel ware" that's been dumped into the Wii marketplace of late. When will this pollution stop? Someone at AMF should have play tested this game before agreeing to have their name associated with it Even if you find it in a "bargain bin" for [...] don't waste your dollar. If you are one of those strange people who like to collect "the worst games ever released" then you might want to check it out because I think it might make some people's "worst 10" list. Everyone else should avoid it.

Terrible Game!,

Received this game as a Christmas gift. It's horrible! I traded it in after attempting to play it just once. Graphics were "ok" - but the game play itself was horrible. If you throw your ball straight, I suppose it would be alright, but don't think you're going to "hook" it or attempt any "fancy" moves.
Save your money.

I broke the cardinal rule; never buy a video game before reading reviews. We bought it yesterday and had to play it right away. It was NEVER fun. The characters' verbal banter is more than irritating and the graphics stink. AMF should be embarrassed by this crap.
Stick with the bowling game in Wii Sports, that comes with the console. It's many, many times better.

I am completely amazed with this game. What an awesome bowling game if you are into terrible graphics, crappy game play, annoying characters, and just all around complete failure. I did like some others did and bought this before reading reviews. BIG mistake. By far the worst game I have ever played. I do enjoy Wii Bowling that came with my wii...guess i'll stick with that. AMF, who in your organization agreed to put your name on this junk? I saw AMF and that is the reason i bought it.

We wanted to try different bowling games from the version that shipped with the Wii. This was a terrible choice. We regret not checking the reviews before purchasing it on a whim. We barely bowled 2 games before putting the disc on the shelf.
Bowling with the original Wii Sports is much more enjoyable & playable.

It's like a cake made entirely of frosting. If you're hoping to enjoy bowling, then STOP -- this isn't the game for you.
The game's possible plusses is that the character and lanes have personality, but the game play was terrible and that just made the aesthetics annoying. This might be the game for my 7-year-old grandson to play when he's here. He certainly won't care about the bowling part so much, and he might find the odd comic-book characters worthy of his interest.

Folks, don't waste your money. The graphics are sub par and the actual game play absolutely STINKS! Thought this would be a blast and more lifelike than the Wii bowling. I was completely wrong!

Don't waste your money! This is the worst wii game I've ever played. Wii Sports is 100x better. You won't play this one more than 5 mins. Compared to Wii Sports Bowling; AMF has terrible graphics and it's not as realistic.

Just got this game, and thought it would be nice to have a "real" bowling game. Big mistake. The only nice things about this game were different bowling venues and plenty of different balls to choose from.
- Gameplay is awful, it's impossible to hook the ball - The characters are annoying with the same like six catch phrases repeated Over and Over and Over again - The mini games are ridiculous, I was able to get them but it wasn't a matter of any sort of skill throwing it, and the game where you are supposed to hook the ball is straight impossible - Graphics are terrible Save your money.

I bought this without reading any reviews, which I normally do. BIG MISTAKE.
My family has been enjoying the Wii Bowl that came with the console, and we wanted to try something a little different. Took this game to my dads house and we gave it a few tries. What a wad of crap this game is. There is no way to curve the ball, it looks-sounds-feels like you are bowling with a round brick. We took the game out after 10 minutes of frustrating gameplay. Never did get it to curve. I gave the game to my son, and asked him to see if he couldnt get his brick to curve. The next day he gave it back to me and said it was useless and that he too could never get the ball to curve. Either this game is the worst thing ever made, or you are reading about 3 generations of 1 family that is as sharp as a bowling ball. |
