This review is from: AMT Star Trek Mr. Spock Commemorative Ed 1/12 (Toy)
I recently purchased this model. I had the original years ago, so it was easy to compare the two.
That I can tell the models are the same design. The thing I noted immediately was it was made of white plastic, which felt light and cheaper grade than the older Aurora models. Now this plastic was not any more difficult to paint than an Aurora style model. I used acrylic paint on this one, along with some oil based paints for shiny parts, like is communicator. It did make a nice model. It's not too big so it won't take all your shelf space too. Recommended for average model builders or Sci-Fi fans.
