This review is from: ANGEL RIOTS (Paperback)
Set in the music world in Montreal, The Angel Riots is an interesting debut novel from a talented artist. The book switches protagonists between Jim, a girl from the prairies who comes to Montreal to forget about her lost twin brother . Rize is a musician with the "Angel Riots" and his story follows his spiral into the typical music funnel of drugs, alcohol and depravity but his character is redeemed by his insecurity and humanity.
The language is clean and thoughtful, the situations the characters find them in less so but always fascinating. |
