Good product, Make sure you get the big extra strong magmount. This will ensure this antenna to be stable. The only thing I would like to get to added to this is a an elbo peice to allow it to bend...

Can hit all the local repeaters and Catalina Island from 60 miles inland. Spring loaded allows antenna to be bent over before going into the garage. Forgot to take it down a couple of times and knocked it off the truck by hitting the garage. No damage and it still works. Antenna is heavy duty and does not bend at highway speeds. Simplex is amazing on this antenna also.

I use this antenna for 2 meters and 70 cm Ham Radio Mobile work. I have used it on a 50Watt mobile transceiver and on a Handie Talkie (5 Watts max). I always get great signal reports. The NMO base allows me to remove it from the car easily when it is not needed but allows high speed travel (80mph and higher highway speeds) with no problem whatsoever.

Having used this continuously as a mag-mount antenna for a TH-F6A, I haven't had any problems at all. Testing the SWR revealed no need to adjust it on any of the three bands it transmits on and it also functions perfectly well for analog scanning. It will NOT hear HF or shortwave, though. This is a '2m or above' antenna only, and it excels in that. My best contact was 40 miles away, simplex, on FM with only five watts from my handheld with this antenna.

I wanted something for mobile use with my Kenwood TH-F6A tri-band radio, so I tried this.

It showed perfect SWR on the 440 MHz (70 cm) band, although not into the 432 portion, out of the box. I was able to reach more distant UHF repeaters than I could with a 1/4-wave whip, and do so with a somewhat better signal.

On 220 MHz (1.25M), SWR was also perfect out of the box, and performance was improved over a 1/4-wave whip.

Two metres (144 MHz), however, was not so good. SWR was acceptable at 1.3, but there was no difference in signal reports or range when compared to a 1/4-wave whip.

Before you think that you can make this work by tuning, remember that any adjustment that you make affects *all three* bands. I spent about 45 minutes making very minor tweaks, none of which improved things over the "out the box" situation.

Also, the antenna that I got was not a fold-over, and was not black. The picture and description have changed since I ordered.

This antenna works well for me, because I need better UHF and 1.25M "reach" than I do on two metres. Most of the two-metre repeaters that I frequent are quite easy to reach with even a 1/4-wave whip. If I were to travel to the rural areas, I would use a gain antenna suited for two metres. But for daily use in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area, this Anli tri-band does everything that I need it to do. It's a bit tall, but it's light enough that it puts no undue stress on my trunk-lip mount.

There are not a lot of options for "gain" 222 MHz antennae out there, but this is very good for that band.

EDIT: After two months, I noticed a pattern in signal reports stating strong "picket fencing" and "flutter".
