RARE ANTIQUE TREASURE 19th-century JAPANESE two-section Isho Dansu ('TANSU' means chest used for clothing) from the Meiji period. Features RARE ANTIQUE fabulous intricate ironwork. This rare ANTIQUE CHEST shows off dynamic lockplates shaped like peony flowers. The traditional drawer pulls are lovely heavy ironworks. The beautiful metal bracketing and bolting around all the drawers were a symbol of affluence. Fashioned in warm light kiri wood, this mint condition tansu offers abundant, deep drawer space throughout. The 2 chests stacked measure 44"H X 38"W X 16 ˝"D. Each chest, side by side, measure 22"H X 38"W X 16 ˝" The original manufacturer's label, written in Japanese, is inside the first drawer. This COLLECTIBLE ANTIQUE FURNITURE TREASURE will be an "eye-catcher" in any room.
