I wear these on my bicycle for 50+ mile rides,

I work in a lab, and I also ride a bike :) When we went out for a ride on a cold and dry day, I needed something to protect my eyes from the wind. I didn't have any cycling glasses, so I just grabbed my lab safety glasses, and they work great!! I purchased my own clear and shaded glasses, and I think they're the best thing ever. I've gone on 50+ mile rides with these. Cycling glasses typically cost at least $40 a pair, and the pricy ones are over $100. Sure, the fancy glasses probably have better ventilation (on really humid mornings when I'm working up a sweat, the AO glasses do fog a bit, but it's usually not that big of a deal). Also, granted, I've never really used *real* cycling glasses because they're so expensive. The AO safety glasses cost 70-90% less, and if I crash and break them, it doesn't cost that much to just buy another pair. Also, because the lenses wrap around, my peripheral vision is unobstructed and uniform with the rest of my vision. That's a big deal for me, especially if I need to watch for traffic. It bothers me a lot when I can't use my peripheral vision because the glasses frame is in the way. Not so with these. Also, in regard to aesthetics, the shaded glasses look great, and the clear glasses aren't even that noticeable. Because the clear glasses are all clear plastic, someone has to look at you up close to tell that you have them on. In terms of comfort, I often forget that I'm even wearing them, which would also be the case if I wore them in the lab for a full work day. Bravo. If I break them, I'm buying more.
By the way, in the spirit of eye protection, everyone should always wear some kind of glasses when riding a bike, even on short rides. I learned this the hard way when a piece of debris scratched my cornea. Not a pleasant experience. So now I wear these glasses every time I do my 1.5-mile commute.

For just a couple of bucks, these are hard to beat. I wouldn't trust them to protect your retinas from the suns rays, but for using the miter saw or nailing, they are great. Mine came clear by mistake I assume, but the glasses are the same as the tinted ones. I just don't look as cool. They have a comfortable fit and some style.
