The mesh is not metal but nylon and the dB is 23 dB not 27 dB.

For those looking for a forestry helmet-- look here, this is a pelitor helmet, not some cheap play thing, if your working in an area where you need the high visibility then this is what you need. Great product *****

I am not sure what these helmets are supposed to do. Are they supposed to protect you from a whipping branch? A small sapling? Maybe this helmet would do that. But let me tell you, if this thing is supposed to protect your head from the chainsaw or a tree, there is no way it is going to do either. It's made of a very thin plastic. I think it would stop my four year old's plastic lightsaber. It will not stop anything much more substantial than that.

As long as you know that, then you're fine. Because the thing does a great job of fitting comfortably, the screen is neat, and the ear muffs are practically perfect. I bet I could shoot a .50 cal gun with these on.

In sum, it's a decent product but don't expect it to save your life.
