About the Permissions - PLAY uses permissions to allow users to receive push notifications (non-Kindle Fire devices), connect your social networks, detect if you're on wifi for streaming content, and add your location to your shares. You can always turn off the location sharing in the Settings of the application. Please note that this doesn't share your specific location, just the city and state that you're in when you're listening to a song. Most of these permissions are used only if you opt in to the social network component of the app. If you choose to use this app as a music player only, most of these permissions will never be accessed.

We do not share any of your information with anyone, period.

1.0 out of 5 stars Oh, screw this! July 26, 2012
Anything from AOL should be free anyway, to make this the app of the day is an insult to all the other apps of the day. A barely there music player app to sell you other crap from AOL. Just say no.

1.0 out of 5 stars 11 permissions is kinda excessive don't ya think July 26, 2012
It's not just the number of permissions (11 total), but this ap also requires intrusive permissions as well. Just say no especially since there are alot of really good music aps.

3.0 out of 5 stars It works well enough, but.... December 7, 2012

This app is really a social media tool disguised as a media player. The media playing functions are present, but aren't really the main draw of the app. The real goal is to get you to talk about and discuss music with friends. There does not appear to be support for music stored in any sort of cloud, and I found the interface for browsing music to be unintuitive. Unfortunately, while I do save some music to my phone, most of it is stored in the cloud, so this music player doesn't do what I need it to.

Minor problems: Initially, the app was constantly force closing, but an update fixed that on my phone. Your mileage may vary.
Additionally, I could find no support for accessing my personal music collection in the cloud. The social media support was a nice touch, but I don't use social media enough to justify using this app as my media player.

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of Money
As my music is stored in the cloud (Google Music), this app showed nothing on my device - please fix. Also, there's nothing else of particular use and that should be charged for.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not a Paid app on Play Store...why is it 99 cents here?
So, mediocre music player is free on Google's Play Store, but you have to pay 99 cents for the privilege of being let down here? No thanks.
