This drive is easy install and works great. Fast and quiet, this drive is much smoother than others I have used. 100% satisfied. The included Nero software is just okay. It works for basic functions but has many teaser features that require you to purchase the 'full' version to activate. A little disappointing for Nero.

The drive was easy to install and worked just fine.
Set the jumpers just like the drive it replaced. Drivers loaded from CD and it worked as advertised. Also included was copy of Nero 7 which was a nice extra.

DVD drive replacement for cdrw,

I bought this to replace a cdrw from Plextor which had died. This device handles both cd and dvd which is an advantage. Unfortunately I was spoiled by the Plextor's speed. By comparison this drive takes ages to write to a cd. It does the job however and for the price i can't complain. Installed easily and the Dell it is in recognized it immediately. Software is basic but adequate for my purposes.
If you don't have a "need for speed" this fits the bill nicely.
