Thanks to this review book, I ended up with a 5! Our AP teacher called this "the review bible" and used this book constantly in class. It's even good for class tests! My friend was failing those until she started reviewing with this book...and her grade improved significantly. The best part of this book is the tests. They ask questions that are definetly comparable to AP level questions, and the best thing is to ALWAYS read the section that explains to you why you are right or wrong on a question. The sample essays are also very helpful.

I believe that every info that you would need for the actual AP U.S. History test is in this book. It has A LOT of practice tests included in it and if you go through each one you should be able to tone your knowledge on American history for everything that could possibly show up on the College Board exam. The only beef I have with this book though is it does not offer any questions at all at the back of each chapter. It can be hard to feel totally satisfactory if you do not have any questions to do after reading a whole chapter. A timeline is alright but questions tone you more.

Though it looks fat, the book is nicely made. With dates, timelines, and good specifics. It has a lot of information and seemlessly connects from one era to another. It picks up on a lot of the events and covers over most of the important details that many people miss.

It's a good buy. Worth the money.

literally questions in the practice tests appeared on the real exam. i remember seeing a nit-picky question on authors and themes of an era that i thankfully learned the previous day in REA. the practice tests may be a little bit harder than the actual thing, but extremely close. the reviews on each era is thorough and the practice tests are plenty. the explanations to the answers of the practice tests are also extremely helpful. one tip is to read the explanation of the correct answer after you complete a practice test, regardless of whether you got it right or wrong to guarantee you have your information down cold. i would say invest your apush money in this book only and you're set for the test in may.

This is a very useful test prep book for any high school student. It is also serves as a very robust text book for advanced US history classes.

This is the ultimate study book for the AP US History Exam, it has almost everyhting you need and will help you wonderously on the test, even if you only study the night before!

it's nice to know that the writers actually have opinions. this is history that definitely doesn't sound like it was written by robots. and this is coming from someone who hates history a lot... i'm just using it to score high on the SAT US history subject test.

The REA AP US History review was the book that I used to review for the AP test today. It's very detailed and goes over all the event that are covered in the textbook we used in class but in a more succinct manner.

I also read the Princeton Review but I felt that it was too general and when I took practice tests, I was unable to answer the more specific questions. The REA book covers each topic more in depth than the Princeton Review does and at the end of each chapter there is a helpful time line for remembering certain time periods.


While I did not take the practice tests in this book, I skimmed over a few questions and I would not recommend relying on this book for practice because the questions are too easy and of a lower caliber than is tested on the AP.

But overall, this book definitely helped me cover and review all the topics I needed to know for this exam. I just got my scores, and I got a 5, because of this book. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone.

As helpful as a book can possibly be. But honestly, like you're going to learn all of the AP US curriculum from one book? Just study in class, and use this for review, but definitely not as a learning tool.
