I purchased the BE650BB on January 20. I followed the included instructions and charged the battery overnight before attaching a load. On January 23, I plugged my machine into the unit and all was well...until 6am on the 24th. The auditory alarm starts sounding that the power is out even though it is not. I start up PowerChute, which says the line voltage is 0 volts, even though the equipment attached to the non-battery outlets is still running. Shortly afterwards, the power is no-longer being supplied to the battery-powered outlets.

I contacted APC tech support about the issue on Feburary 6th. On the 7th tech support responded to my email with instructions to perform a "self check." I attempted to perform the "self check" which of course failed, so I responeded with the information asked of me if that were the case. That was on the 9th. It is the 13th, now, which means that my UPS has an average uptime of less than 5%. I have sent several emails to tech support requesting additional assistance in the meantime; APC has sent NO response. I live in the Pacific timezone, so there is little chance that I will be able to take time off work to come home during the day to call "live" tech support in the near future. At this point, the thing lays in the corner of my spare bedroom like a useless hunk of junk. Looks like that was $80 down the drain!!
