After my 46" Samsung LCD TV burned out and having every part except the case and speakers replaced by Samsung I found claims on the internet that out of specification voltage, both low and high, can cause this problem. I should mention that Samsung was exemplary in this matter. I installed the APC H10 yesterday and found the added benefit of an improved picture and reception. The APC UPS suppling my computer system turns on several times a week (thanks PG&E) which indicates that there is a real problem that is now solved. I like the unit. For those on the receiving end of a flakey power company I also recommend ACScout.

Very heavy with a massive power cable. Even though the indicator lights are very tiny, they are very bright. I haven't compared power coming from the wall to power from this device, but I do see orange "conditioning" light come on from time to time. This indicates that the device is correcting an under or over-voltage. It has two delayed outlets for powering on subwoofers or amps slowly, without that "thump". I have noticed that this conditioner, like a monster conditioner that I returned, do not clean-up video signals through coax cable. It actually can make it worse. I tried all kinds of different shielded cables. High-def cable channels, however, seem unaffected by these artifacts. Beats me.

APC AV H10BLK Home Th 1000VA Power Filter: I purchased this product to protect my HDTV/Receiver/PS3/Klipsch setup. The unit arrived in it's original packing & box within a larger box that had space for the unit to slide around in. Not the best pack job for shipping. After reading the manual I proceeded with the setup. So far so good. It all worked fine. A half a day later I tried to watch TV and could not get the system to work. I troubleshot the H10 and it seemed faulty. I disconnected the H10 and the system worked fine so it appeared I had a inoperative unit. A phone call later I had a RMA number and a new unit was shipped. It arrived 2 days later the same way the first one did. WTF. I reconnected and as of 2 weeks later no problems so I am quite satisfied. APC responded well. During a very hot day I could watch the low voltage light come on for several minutes at a time meaning a minor brownout. Other than that I have had no other indications of the operation of the unit except to monitor the indicator lights on the front panel. COnnecting all my equipment was a breeze and it did remove some of the tangled mess of wires behind my setup.

This is a great buy. It does everything you need it to do for the protection of your hooked up equipment. I've had this model now for several months with no faults. It has successfully protected my gear during power outs and has conditioned my power on several occasions. If you need piece of mind, I highly recomend it.

I don't have a high end system, but it's enough of an investment for me that I wanted to do what I could to protect it. I live in an older residential area (40+ yrs), as well in an area that is subject to weather-related power issues. Having been in the computer industry for a number of years, I was familiar with the APC name and product line. Monster was a consideration, but APC's features (esp. voltage regulation) and price point made it a much more attractive option. I have had it in use now for a couple of weeks and have not had any issues. The unit appears to be well-built, and it has a nice, clean appearance.

I personally think that this is a worthwhile investment to protect your home theater system. You may not even be aware of all the fluctuations that occur in your utility power, which are very destructive over time to sensitive electical circuits. The unit either boosts or trims power to your valuable AV equipment accordingly. It also provides video filtering which, I think, did subtlety improve my flat screen's picture. Very solid and heavy duty. Recommended.

This is my 2nd H10 power conditioner from APC. Purchased and have been using 1st one for 8 months now, no problems, just protection. I live in a newer home with updated wiring and 200AMP service. Very few power outages in our area.
Thought our power provider was rock solid, however in the last 8 months there have been at least 4 occurances of undervoltage or brownouts. Twice while I was watching I heard the clicking and once it actually had to cut power because it went too low for too long. Since it was night and all lights were off and just TV was on I probably wouldn't have even known it the past. Would have just watched while power dip was shortening life span of my equipment. The other 2 times I wasn't home, but lights which I had turned off on unit were back on in default settings. So much for thinking I didn't have power issues. Recommended to my brother in Florida in liu of expensive extended warrenty on already pricey LED Samsung, reasoning that if not infant mortality that power inconsistencies would be the cause of any problems he would encounter. He agreed, purchased one and almost immediatly he noticed that power ran hot during evenings and the unit would trim.

And as far as hearing clicking that others have complained about, I ask would you rather hear clicking, or perhaps smell burning of boards being fried? I am glad it works, and like knowing when it engages.

So happy I planned to buy another for my eventual 2nd LCD or Plasma purchase which is a ways off (6 months or more). When I noticed that these units are being discontinued I decided to go for it now and not regret not being able to find it later. It seems APC is phasing these out and the newer products will have battery backup also, but at a significantly higher cost. Not wishing to incur this cost or the added complexity of batteries (eventually they have to be changed) I opted to buy it now.

Unit is substantial, built like a tank. I believe I will have years of good service and protection from it.

Great product at a reasonable price. Does it's job. This is the third one I have installed. The first unit protected a home theater equipment rack after a nearby lightning strike when other electronic equipment in the home had to be replaced.

I've had this unit for over two years and it has saved my equipment from power outages. I've gone through two routers, Hava, and a modem due to power outages from storms. Ever since this unit was used, it has saved all sensitive devices for over two years. I am planning on picking up another unit for the house....if I have anything negative to say, just like DSLRs...the black units cost more than the silver ones....

Generally the product operates very well,however there is a great deal of faith required. The indicators tell you very little about problems that the product has detected.

It would be nice if there were trouble codes to tell the user
what event specifically happened and why. This would give the
user a much better idea if they have a line problem that should
be looked into or, if there is a problem with the unit itself.

My unit for instance keeps going into a "trim" mode. I think I know what this is but HOW MUCH is the unit trimming and why??

Again the system seems to be working correctly if one puts their faith in "idiot" lights.
