I purchased this power strip to replace an APC battery back up protector. Instead of replacing the battery in the back up protector I chose to get this strip. One of my cats frequently turned off the battery back up protector by pushing the easy-to-reach button with her paw. Since the on/off button on this power strip is on the side, the cat is no longer able to turn off my computer from the power strip. So, the power strip works much better for me than the back up protector ;-)!

This power surge protector is used with my home network. I hook this up to my 10 Base T network. The 6 foot cord is very handy for stretching it throughout your room. Recommendation: Strong Buy
