Nice unit, working fine so far.

This one fit my needs and was a plus with some outlets having enough space for the big charger plugs.

I would recommend because of the reliable brand.

9/24/2013 Update - After sending a strong email to APC, I was informed that they would now pay my claim. So today I recieved my claim check and APC eventually did the right thing.

The APC surge protector doesn't protect. APC denied claim....Stay away!

On June 25th 2013, lightning struck right beside my home. It tripped the main breaker to the house. After getting the power back on, I noticed my electronic equipment that was properly connected to my APC surge protector wasn't working. I filed a claim, and sent in the surge protector as instructed. APC denied the claim as they informed me the surge protector was fine, and showed no internal signs of damage, burning or indicators of power surge.

There are 2 schools of thought -
1. obviously it is ok, as it didn't "perform" as intended and allowed my equipment to be damaged.
2. APC "checked" their own product, in their "own" lab. APC said it showed "no internal signs of damage, burning or indicators of power surge", "no loose parts". There were loose parts, as I heard loose piece(s) inside surge protector while I was preparing it for shipment to APC facility. APC indicated "NO" on loose material section of Test Report, and that just isn't true.

I also filed a claim against Belkin as well (for damaged equipment in 2nd room), and that was denied as well.

Surge protector companies like APC and Belkin are lying to consumers, as their protectors don't protect and their so called "Equipment Protection Policy" is a joke. My equipment was connected properly and simply wasn't protected.
Thank you for providing a false sense of security while using APC/Belkin products. I will no longer be using APC/Belkin equipment, and sharing my thoughts with others.

In the past 2 weeks I've replaced 4 Cisco routers that were "fried" while being hooked up to these APC devices. When hooked up to an ethernet cable tester all APC devices show the same result - faulty on wires 4, 5, 7, and 8.

To make matters worse, I found out that about a year ago a previous employee filed a warranty claim and after jumping through their hoops, APC said they would only honor 1 warranty claim for our company....for LIFE! Doesn't help us when we've purchased over 100 of these!

We bought these after losing 10 routers (thanks cable modems for passing voltage over ethernet). Since using the product we've lost at least 10 more!

Very disappointing when they advertise:
"Data-line Protection Protection of data lines (Ethernet, Coaxial and Phone lines) ensures complete protection of your equipment from surges. It is very important to protect your equipment from "back door" surges traveling through data lines, as they can be as damaging to your equipment as surges traveling over power lines."

I guess for $26 we shouldn't have expected too much?

My primary attraction to this product was the coaxial tv antenna protection. The product seems to be built soundly. All outlets worked, there are tons of them. The plug in cord was nice and heavy. I was pleasantly suprised that it came with a high quality 36" patch cable the TV antenna hookup, and I think a phone patch cable too. The instructions say not to run a satellite hookup through the coaxial input. I saw no information about that prior to purchase, so be aware this is useless for a digital dish type of signal. The one con I have is that it seemes to have caused a VERY SLIGHT loss of tv antenna signal. For one TV channel I rarely experienced frozen moments or signal loss, but immediately after hookup I now have occasional problems with that one channel. It is a fringe channel for me, but none the less, the signal seems to be reduced, therefor I took one star off the rating. I did not purchase the extended warranty with my plasma TV, so I am counting on this product to hopefully help me out with power or lightening issues.

Don't listen to any of the 1-star ratings; they don't know what they're doing. This unit has covers for the outlets so you can slide them closed when not in use, so that's why some people's plugs might not "fit right" or whatever.

The quality of this unit is the same today as it has been for the past decade+ in my experience. I started out using the "home/office" branded units but have since moved to the Performance line as they offer more protection for barely any increase in price (and sometimes a decrease).

This particular unit offers 5 middle plugs for your non-block plugs, and 6 full size block plug outlets. SIX BLOCK PLUG OUTLETS lol that's just insane compared to the competition. You can use a single one of these for your entire home entertainment center or computer complex! The best part (imo) is the overload light. It lets you know if you have too many things plugged into it, which is for YOUR safety and your equipment's safety, not for the unit's capacity. I have trusted APC for many years at work to protect hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of equipment, and I will continue to trust them to protect my home and office equipment just the same.

It always amazes me when I talk to people about their home AV/entertainment centers and several-thousand-dollar salt water aquariums and they have absolutely no idea how important power protection really is. If you spend $5,000 on a home av/entertainment center, what on Earth would prevent you from providing the best power protection available to protect it? Say you have a $2,000 computer and another $1,000 in misc items such as printers, routers, switches, phone charges and whatever else plugged into your room. Don't you think a $30 investment for a surge suppressor such as this would be a good call?
