4.0 out of 5 stars Lightening kills
Bought this after my neighbors house was hit by lightening and it destroyed my dsl modem. So I bought this and it has the phone protection and coaxial protection. Once again lightening struck and everything survived that was hooked to this. Don't know about the warranty issues but this product seems to work.

2.0 out of 5 stars misleading labelling
This product was advertised as handling two discrete 'phone lines, but it has only two leads in the 'phone socket (i.e., for a single line). I replaced it with a Dynex from BestBuy, which had 4 leads, for two-line protection, at, incidentally, a far better price.

What more do you want with a power strip?

I've got phone and network lines plugged in here before distribution to my desk. There's also room to plug in lots of pieces of equipment including those with big bulky transformers. Similar size units from companies like Monster are about five times the price.

Of course I haven't had any problems as of yet to test the warranty out and I hope that I never have to.

4.0 out of 5 stars APC Good Buy! Good Investment!, June 25, 2008
This review is from: APC PF11VNT3 11-Outlet SurgeArrest with Tel2/Splitter, Coax and Ethernet Protection (Electronics)
I have been using this APC product for the last 5 years and had my first mishap recently. We had a power surge(SoCal Edison), in our 50 year old home, that fried our toaster, but all the appliances plugged into our two APC surge protecter survived the surge. Unfortunately, the APC surge protecters did not do so well. I was on the phone the next day with APC and they were ready to file a claim on all the appliances destroyed, WOW, but I told them that their products both burned out. They shipped two new surge protecters and I shipped the old ones back. Kudos to APC for great products and service.

This product does the job its intended to do. No muss, no fuss, no problems.

WARNING: However, the plugs are covered to protect against foreign objects and dust, but this feature also makes it difficult for older or less capable individuals to force the plugs into the receptacle. While this is no big deal for the young, those with joint problems may encounter difficulties.

APC always makes great products and I stand by them 100%, but this one does have one annoying characteristic. The safety covers for the outlets that are built in require you to insert the plug in at a VERY specific angle, and jiggle it in. It took me a few minutes to get the hang of it, but after that, I was OK.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best bang for the buck..., September 26, 2007

This is my second one. The first one quit working after only 4 months.

But hey, it did it's job and STOPPED a voltage spike that a competing brand plugged into the same outlet never caught. So I am impressed.

Unless you are into very high end surge protectors, an auto reset is a sign of a cheap unit. So I was happy to see my unit blow and quit working.

Used an APC surge protector like this for my computer station.
It worked wonderfully for 7 yrs and until our house was flooded.
This is a replacement.

Pros:
1. Plenty of space for plugs
2. $100,000 lifetime connected equipment warenty
3. Looks good.
4. Cable seems strong
5. RJ-45 (Network Cable) protection, RJ-11 (Phone Cable) Protection, and cable protection are great in adition to the 11 normal power outlets.
6. Has screw holes on the back so it can be mounted on a wall.
7. My 3rd APC product, and none of them have let me down yet.

Cons:
1. I have not figured out how to get the white thing at the bottom, a cable holder, to work.

This surge protector can offer everything you are looking for, it can protect your gadgets from surge for cable, internet, phone and power connections. 11 outlets! Lifetime warranty from APC! However, don't know whether it will actually do the job when surge may occur!!!
