Finally a surge protector with a switch you can get at,

I love this APC surge protector. Not only does it have 2 outlets that stay on, its power cord comes out of the SIDE at a right angle, pointing AWAY from the power switch end. So it is ideal to use at the end of a desk where the power switch EASY to get to. Every other power strip on the market is built backwards in my opinion - the switch is at the wrong end. This power strip is nice and wide, so it doesn't tip over, and it accomodates 4 wall warts nicely. Great product!

This brand was recommended by my power company. I hope I never have to know if it worked or not. Bought this after we had a terrible surge that knocked out almost all of our electronics, so all new and protected!

Pros: price, able to handle thick plugs, still access to other outlet due to angled plug...appears super qualityCons: wish angled plug went other way....some outlets were HARD to plug into (but since this is not something i plan to unplug often, or even ever....no big deal....but i really had to use force to get it in.....) (bought two actually)... overall, highly recommend

Design Flaw,
This review is from: APC PH8T3 8-Outlet SurgeArrest with Tel2/Splitter Protection (Electronics)
I've purchased a total of three of these from two different merchants and all have the same problem: the outlets down the center either don't work at all or stop working if the plug is jiggled even slightly. APC has clearly cut too many corners to keep the price down. Spend a few more bucks and save yourself a lot of frustration.

Overall I've been relatively happy with the various APC SurgeArrests that I've tried. The design is pretty good: the plug goes in at an angle so that you can use the other outlet, the cord swivels and is long, there are switched outlets, etc. They're not cheap and I have had a failure (on/off switch stopped working) and weird behaviour (surge light was always on). I wish all of the models had surge lights.Support from APC has been pretty decent and getting the failed unit replaced was fast and painless.

Used for a entertainment center, realy liked the plugs arrangement. Worked great for all the different plug types. Only wish it had a Coax set of ports. It does have a set for phone.

Well, it works. Now. For whatever reason, when I first unplugged my plugs from my old surge protector and used this one, the items didn't work; electricity wasn't flowing. Unplugging the item and plugging it back in a few times, or changing sockets solved the problem, and all is well now, but this was strange.Edit a year later-- several of the outlets in this surge protector still do not provide power! Several others do, and they have worked without incident for over a year, but, strangely, the power outlets in the middle of the unit do not work.

looks good and i like the relatively flat plug into the wall. but the nice tapered design is actually flawed with the tranformer rows along the sides angling downward away from the center. this downward angle causes heavy transformers that overhang the lip to tip over and lever the plugs right out of the sockets. it doesn't help that it's hard to insert the plugs initially, but once you do, they are gripped very loosely. i had to solve for the tilting tranformers by putting supports underneath them to keep them level.

Good quality power strip,

Great design. Love the spacing for "wall warts". As for being difficult to plug in/out, I think this is being over exaggerated. Yes, it's a little tight plugging in and out, but not so that I found it difficult.
