I never rely on these products to fully cycle a new aquarium and filter but to boost and accelerate start up. I have planted tanks, so I'm not in a screaming rush to throw fish in. I use it as insurance and to help seed new filters more quickly. In that application I find it useful and reliable. I don't lose fish at start up. I may use it in my new shrimp tank and see if it's reliable for a straight cycle. But I would continue to use it in any case. Also helpful if medication must be used in a tank.

I generally use prime but decided to try this on a 20 gallon i was setting up for some fry, my main concern was new tank syndrome so I used some filter media from an established tank in my filter and used quick start to help get things in balance, I did a 50% water change week one using quickstart to the added water as well, so far my fish are doing great (into week 3) and my tests are all coming out fine (api master water test kit).

You have to use approx. 8oz in three days but you will have a full bloomed aquarium. FYI the price here is almost DOUBLE. Got to Pet Mountain for best price, free shipping deals all the time. This product you can find in the $13 range.

I have used it since came out, took to much water out, fish started stressing, found this and 24 hours they were back to normal...Love it!!!

I know a decent amount about tanks and the cycling process, but after changing from gavel to a plant substrate and adding live plants, plus a 60% water change, I basically killed any and all good beneficial bacteria that was in the tank. This was a few days before Christmas 2013, it's now mid Jan and has been a few days since I used an entire bottle that said would treat up to 110 US gallons on my 56 US gallon tank….The levels didn't even budge…I'm glad I only bought a small bottle…I am still trying to find a product that will help my tank…Will be trying the Easy Balance + next as I've read amazing reviews about it...

This work great. I have used it on two tanks and my levels have been great. If you don't want to wait six weeks for a new tank to cycle then this is the answer. I used a quality test kit testing my water and this does what it says it does.

I used this in my new tank because I wanted to get the nitrogen cycle to be in full gear without the long wait. I put this in every new tank with no fish loss. It has the beneficial bacteria and helps keep the amonnia and nitrites at bay.

This was recommended to me by a gentleman who had the healthiest fish in town. My little swimming friends love this good bacteria and are very happy and healthy in their tank.
