This product is very reasonably priced. The power chord for the Macbook consists of two pieces. The reason there are two pieces to the power chord is, one part has the grounder (the three prong wall adapter) and the other does not. I had lost the three prong part of the power chord, and was forced to use the two prong portion. This was fine until that box on the two prong portion of the power cord shorted out. (If you own a Macbook, you know what I mean my "the box on the power chord"). It was then, that I realized that the three prong wall adapter is crucial if you are keeping your Macbook plugged in for extended periods of time. I will not say how much the three prong power chord is at the Apple Store in Manhattan, but it is ridiculously overpriced. Amazon had the best price on the internet.

I am writing this review over one year after my purchase, and I've had no problems with the power chord or any shortages.

A good inexpensive alternative to apple's ridiculously overpriced replacement power cords. You'd have to look closely to be able to tell the difference between this knockoff and the mac version.

I needed an extra power cord for my Mac laptop computer so that I would not have to continually disconnect the power source at home and pack it up when I needed to take my laptop on the road. It was very handy to just be able to keep the extra power cord in my laptop case and not have to continually fool with the one at my home desk setup. For the relatively low cost, it made my life much more efficient and I highly recommend it.

Once again my order shipped was wrong. I've placed several orders from Amazon over the years. And have always been satisfied with everything. But my last two orders including this one, is wrong. I hate wasting money, but what other choice to I have when I can't afford to ship the wrong orders back. Well, Merry Christmas everyone. I hope you had better luck then me. And remember if your Christmas has no presants remember your loved ones are your gifts. After I became ill my family was lucky to just have a holiday dinner. The one year my children were giving presants, This lady and her husband stole all of them and everything we owned. But the one thing they didn't get were myself and my children we may not have but the clothes on our back and a warm place to sleep , but we do have eachother to some degree.

Not only was the price of my powercord inexpensive but it looks and works as if it were brand new. I bought it over Amazon one afternoon and received it in the mail in less than 24 hours. Shipping/handling and price all under $10! Would definitely buy from this source again. I bought my MacBookPro in England and when I moved back to the US, I didn't have the right powercord charger. Prices for an American power cord were out of control (nearly $100). After advice from an Apple employee I was referred to an Amazon link for just the adapter cord. I am very happy with my purchase.

Much better than the original plug. No issues of shorting out with this cord. I can see why Apple changed the cord to its current design.
