5.0 out of 5 stars The best book I've read on assembling an AR-15.. ..from the ground up!, May 2, 2006

This review is from: The AR-15 Complete Assembly Guide (AR-15 Guide Vol 2) (Paperback)
First and foremost, the book has very easy to follow assembly instructions with excellent photographs. The book also includes informative tips on what pitfalls to watch-out for during the assy processes; this is in addition to explaining easier ways to do certain assy steps. One good example is the phenomenal installation instructions for the Jewell Match Trigger. This excellent trigger comes packaged with the most atrocious instructions from the manufacturer; in fact, these instructions do a great disservice to an otherwise near perfect trigger. But, I was able to install this after-market trigger in less than 30 mins. by following the book's instructions. This was also done while I was sitting on my bed being distracted by watching TV.
The installation continues with very thorough info on how to adjust and fine tune this great trigger once installed. This is but a small example of how this book has helped me. I don't want to sound melodramatic ...but this little book is G-R-E-A-T!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent photo guide for first time AR owners., January 11, 2009

This review is from: The AR-15 Complete Assembly Guide (AR-15 Guide Vol 2) (Paperback)
Having previous experience with AR/M16s in the service, I wanted a simple yet useful photo guide for my most recent acquisition. After reading other reviews about this book I thought why not. If it has all the photos and step by step info, then it's exactly what I've been searching for. And it is. Very thorough step by step photo guide that takes you through complete assembly. There are also tons of notes, tips, tests, pitfalls and cautions throughout the book, that can only come from someone who has very extensive knowledge of AR-15/M-16 rifles. This book, in effect, teaches you how to build your own AR from the ground up. There are 5 chapters and 326 black & white gray scale photos that are very crisp in detail. Chapters 3 & 4 are your lower and upper receiver assembly chapters. They are very well layed out, with all parts needed thoroughly listed, torque specs, locking compounds and required tools. Ending with final assembly of the two receivers in Chapter 5.
I highly recommend this guide for anyone who is looking to build their first AR-15, as well as the experienced builder needing a quick reference guide.

This is a very good book on assembling the AR-15 rifle. Easy to follow photos and instructions. I just bought an AR-15 rifle and since I haven't had anything to do with one for over thirty years, this book has helped a lot. Highly recommend this book.
