Cheap Chinese piece of crap. Normally I don't buy crap, but the majority of reviews were ok so I did. The very first time I used it to remove the locking nut on the lower, the spanner end of the wrench broke off! I'm not talking about the "nipple" on the end, I'm talking about the WHOLE top end of the wrench broke off. Looking at the break on both ends of the pieces, you could see RUST throughout half of the forging. Now I know why they put such a thick coating on this tool. Luckily I didn't scratch up my locking nut or tube too bad.
Don't waste your money. Maybe you'll get lucky, maybe you won't. Spend the extra and buy a quality tool. Now onto the return process.

I thought you know what for 20 bucks this wrench will be crap. I mean there are places selling similar wrenches selling for 50+ bucks! But, I figured I'd give this one a try. I do a lot of "shade tree gunsmithing" and man was I surprised when I put this wrench to work! It does a great job and is really well made. The torque wrench drive cut-out in the wrench is great for getting the perfect 35 foot lbs. on a typical barrel nut. I like Larue Tactical handguards so taking down a barrel nut is a must and this wrench can really do the job. The end used for the carousel nut is also great. Before you guys spend the 50+ on a high dollar wrench of the same quality give this one a try. Save the money and use it to buy more ammo so you can go out and have some fun with the weapon you've spent so much time building!

Don't waste your money, this wrench is garbage. I had/have two AR15 project's I have been working on, I was able to torque the first barrel to 30 pounds and the teeth on the wrench striped causing slight damage to my barrel and barrel nut.

Just like another reviewer, I snapped the end off when attempting to remove a staked castle nut on an A4 collapsible stock. During this process, it also made a total mess out of my buffer-tube's threading.

So not only did I waste $20 on the wrong tool, but I get to buy a new buffer tube and castle nut now as well.

THANKS GRG! At least bundle in some KY next time so that it doesn't hurt as bad.

This tool is forged and welded then dipped in a coating with no treatment for the area where it was held during the dipping. Over all average quality for an item made in China.

Good wrench, but the finish is too thick to use properly. After some scraping with a razor blade, it worked fine.

I purchased this wrench to facilitate the removal of the stock handguard on a bushmaster m4a3. I replaced the stock handguard with a daniel defense lite. I wanted to use this wrench to remove the stock barrel nut and install the new daniel defense nut. The wrench worked fine to remove the stock nut (coating is a little thick on the wrench (had to tap it on the nut with a rubber mallet). The problem came with installing the new nut. First the coating on the wrench is so thick that i had to file some of it off to get it to fit (not that big of a deal). I attached my torque wrench and began to tighten the new nut. At roughly 30 lbs of pressure two teeth snapped off. If you just need to remove / install stock barrel nuts and flash arrestors, then this wrench should be fine. Would not recommend for anything else.
