Ever since the placement of the AR15/M4 6.5 inch Tactical Quad Rail RIS Hand Guard free ERGONOMIC GRIP my AR has become 100% improvement of function and availibility of area to attach equipment. I would recomend this product to anyone with a AR Carbine.

As mention in a prior review the rail are of good quality and construction. It even brings an Allen wrench to lock down the for bolts if comes with to secure around the barrel. I would also recommend you use a little lock tight on the bolts, before locking them down. I purchase the package deal with the forward hand grip. The grip is easy to install, however I highly recommend you slide the grip on the buttom rail 1st before fully assembling the rails. Makes it much easier then trying to slide the grip on after you mounted the rails. A must have tool before starting this conversion are a set of the handguard removal tool. Makes life much easier, purchased a set here from Amazon (wish they had them around when I was active duty).

I have a Colt AR15 A2 Sporter Carbine with a 16 inch barrel. I was worried this rail would not fit. The original handguard measures 6.5 inches, and armed with this information, I took a chance and ordered this product. When the rail arrived it looked a little longer than the original handguard. However, the quad rail fit on perfectly and looks great.

It fits on the the front handguard cap differently than the original. Instead on snapping into the front handguard cap, the rail fits over the cap and is then secured with four bolts. It seems to be a very, very good way of securing the rail to the rifle and is easier to install than the original hand-guard (my D ring is a bit stiff and I don't have a D ring tool).
