Buy every 3 years or so... October 5, 2010

Not terrible, but the entries really need to be cleaned up. If you purchase this every three years or so you might see a couple of changes and it could be worth the purchase. Knocked off a star for changing the small book format itself...it used to have rounded edges that just made it look good. My guess is that is costs a couple of pennies less to produce it in the standard rectangle shape - too bad really. One important note - beware of the software version of this, it is unusable on anything later than windows xp (and even on xp is exceptionally poor).

Some information not current January 21, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a handy reference to have in your vehicle when you travel as it may give you the information you need to get on the air when traveling but don't rely solely on the information in this book. There were repeaters in my area left out and others that were listed that didn't exist. When I went to "google" the repeaters listed that I couldn't access on my radio I found some were decommissioned and others I couldn't find any history of.

Ham Radio Repeater Handbook November 27, 2010

This is the same publication sold by the ARRL but Amazon has it for less. I only wish that the ARRL would carefully review the contents and group repeaters that are clearly located in one geographic area under one section within the respective state. You will find some repeaters that are close to each other sometimes show under different geographic areas within a given state requiring the reader to read thru the entire state listing under a given band to locate all machines in that one area. Also, information contributors should make every effort to include PL or DCS tones for open repeaters. Many open repeaters listed lack this information. Otherwise, it's a very useful aid to hams that travel.
