5.0 out of 5 stars WHAT WENT WRONG?
The bridge game was easily installed, and appears properly on screen when we want to play. Sadly, we cannot access either sound of voices or music - both promised by the company and supplier. J & R, the supplier, could not recommend proceedures to fix the problem, and could not supply a telephone number of the manufacturer, only a fax number. When Faxed, ARTWORX, the...

1.0 out of 5 stars Bridge CD from ARTWORX
This is a terrible product. It might have been good in 1985, but is horribly obsolete. Graphics are pre historicly bad, there are no options to speak of. I was looking to replace the Bicycle Bridge with a better version...THIS IS NOT IT !

1.0 out of 5 stars Bridge 8.0 is obsolete, January 13, 2006

Bridge 8 has some marvelous features -- if you can access them. This 20-year-old software plays on older Macintosh computers, but is not compatible with the current system 10. Sounds were not accessible, and I had to try the software out on an older computer to make it work at all. An update would be welcome, but Macintosh users should be warned.

When Faxed, ARTWORX, the manufacturer, did not respond. Also, when we play the game on our new E-MAC OS X - TIGER, it plays so slowly, coming to a virtual halt, that it ceases to be fun, so we have returned the game, and live in hopes that the replacement will do better.

1.0 out of 5 stars Save your money - don't buy it, August 20, 2005

Complete waste of money. Don't buy it. It's a 6 year plus software that they are still trying to make money out of it. Terrible garphics, it works only out of the CD, poor user interface. There are much better programs on the market.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bridge without End, September 13, 2005
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: ARTWORX Bridge 8.0 Deluxe Version ( Windows/Macintosh ) (CD-ROM)
Whether you're a beginner or a more advanced player, Bridge 8.0 provides ready and flexible access to what seems like bridge without end. You'll never have to worry again about getting people together for a bridge game. The software deals, bids, prompts (when an error in protocol is about to be made), plays for your opponents (and your partner when you don't have the bid; you play both yours and your partner's hands when either of you has the bid), and keeps score. Since this software was created by humans and bridge is often quite complex, software decisions about bidding and playing are not perfect, but Bridge 8.0 is great fun and addictive!

Bridge 8.0 is not a slick, modern program in looks. It is, however, the best PLAYING bridge game around. The bidding is accurate and smart. Your opponents are not stupid; your partner is not an idiot. It is the most accurate representation of real bridge play around.

1.0 out of 5 stars ARTWORX BRIDGE 8.0, May 7, 2007
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: ARTWORX Bridge 8.0 Deluxe Version ( Windows/Macintosh ) (CD-ROM)
This product is misadvertised as being usable for Windows/Mac. I point out that it will only work with old Macs which have a 9 operating system. The company does not have a Bridge game which will operate on a 10.0 system. My ratings are based on the fact that it would not work on my computer.

This review is from: ARTWORX Bridge 8.0 Deluxe Version ( Windows/Macintosh ) (CD-ROM)
I tried to load this game and found that it was a dos program which I could not load. Who sells dos programs anymore? I returned the software and got a refund. I did have to pay to ship it back however. I will not buy from this company again.

= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: ARTWORX Bridge 8.0 Deluxe Version ( Windows/Macintosh ) (CD-ROM)
This product should not be on the market. It is totally out-of-date. The pace of play gives "slow" a whole new dimension. I would only hope that I can get a refund.

I bought this for my elderly mother who likes bridge but is ignorant of computers, so she runs this on an old mac powerbook. It seems a well-put-together tutorial and it gives her computer opponents to play against when she's alone.

I would like to see the mac version expanded...it is still OS/9,and they did not include the manual for the mac version on the disc. But it seems to work flawlessly and there are a lot of options to explore.
