These shoes gave a very good first impression to me, being my first pair of Asics. I thought I would be getting what i paid for, a cheap pair of running shoes. Have a pair of Nike shox Turmoils, New Balance 1315s, and Babolat Team All Court IIIs , and I must say that these are the best, if not better than the Nikes. For 30 bucks, took them straight out of the box, weren't stiff/ no break in needed. Out of the box, strapped them on, and went running. Immediately felt a difference from my Nikes... AND run my fastest mile ever by at least 20 seconds. This shows to me that Asics actually care about their "bottom-of-the-line" shoes, so I'm definitely interested in Asics running. Hopefully, their tennis shoes will come down in price...

Always loved asics shoes and their durability. I have the gel kinsei 2 and wanted a cheaper version for everyday use. Let me tell you there is no comparison in quality or comfort between the two. The main problem is the insoles won't stay in. They are slip in but don't seem to fit properly because after having them on the insoles slide back and bunch up in the heal. I then have to take them off and fix them so they are comfortable again. I still like asics and maybe with a aftermarket insole they will be ok, but I wouldn't buy this series again.

I've been a pretty loyal Asics fan for the past 15 years with forays into other brands and still come back. I bought the Cumulus and the Antares about 6 months ago and the Antares won. The Cumulus was too padded for me (6'2", 180#) which gave me hip and ankle issues which is not the shoes fault, but me not knowing it would affect me like that. The Antares is less padded in the forefoot which is what I needed. The insole is garbage like other posters have mentioned, but all I did was get a gel sport insole to replace it and haven't had a problem since. As of this writing these shoes have done a couple of 5k's, a half marathon, and two marathons, soon to be three then I'll have to retire them for a new pair. Aside from the support (neutral) I like how they look. The finish on them looks way better to me as opposed to the formed marshmallow sole padding look on many running shoes. Antares has this finished as part of the shoe's upper transition to the sole which, to me, is a better finish look.

these are the best, most comfortable shoes i've ever had. they were cheap and arrived quickly. i will probably buy another pair

Great shoe for the price. I have owned mostly Adidas shoes, but these rank right up there with them.
