I bought these shoes to replace an old pair of ASICS. They fit well and were exactly what I was wanting at a price that I considered reasonable. I like the side to side stability of these shoes. If they hold up as well as the last pair of ASICS I had, I will be wearing them for quite a long time.

I've been wearing variations of the GEL-equation 2 for a couple of years. This new incarnation--equation 3 is horrible. I'd rather run in my old worn out shoes than these. They kill my feet, rub my ankles and the sole is hard as a rock. I've put at least 50 miles on in these and they are still sooooo uncomfortable. This is aggravating because once I find a running shoe (which is very difficult) I like to stick with it. I have to start all over again trying different brands. A total hassle. Yes, I've tried different socks and different running surfaces. They were expensive but they are not even good for everyday chore shoes. Giving them away.

ASICS is the best for support these days at an affordable price. If you can't spend over a $100 then buy ASICS online because that's the only way to afford them.
