2.0 out of 5 stars Interference in the toe box
I returned my pair because of interference on the underside of the toe box, the fit seemed fine otherwise. A fellow V-ball player tried my pair on and noticed the same interference/feature, so it's not likely my feet.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but wouldn't order again, December 6, 2010
I've played racquetball in them 4-5 times a week for the last 6 months. In my quest for comfortable shoes these are so-so even after adding SuperFeet insoles. Buying rball shoes (court shoes) is difficult since there isn't a store to try them on. The Sensei-3 are good in all other respects; grip, durability, style. My shoes before these were the Volley-Cross...liked them but cant find them anymore. Tried HiTec and returned them...not comfortable for my feet. At the premium price I expect to be comfortable. I'll continue to wear these as I save my pennies for my next pair. I suggest to give these a try but I would not buy again. My search continues.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Stable, But Sole Coming Unglued After 1 Month, January 5, 2012
By
Jarrett S (San Francisco) - See all my reviews
I'm using these for squash and they took me a little while to get used to. They're much more rigid than the Wilson's I'm used to. I almost sent them back because I thought they didn't give enough. I've since come to really like them.

I will say that the construction, like many shoes now, is weak. The soles are already coming off and it's only been a month or so. Instead of sending them back and having them replace them I just used super glue. I probably would have given them a five star if it weren't for this. Otherwise they're great shoes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Beware sizing, October 31, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I use these shoes for racquetball and squash. There are no shops in my area which sell legit shoes so I had to go online for these. Unfortunately, that meant i couldnt try them on. Alas, the best I could do was order these shoes based on the size of my old squash shoes (k-swiss if the brand helps you), size 9. These asics however seem to be more like a size 9.5 or 10 in comparison (despite being 9's.) That being said, if you are ordering them for volleyball or somethings else, I could see such a discrepancy mattering less because the shoes dont need to fit as snugly as for squash. But, seriously, if you can try them on, TRY THEM ON before you buy. Evaluate if you should return them/buy them by doing sharp lunges jumping forward and landing on one foot to try to make it slide. If your foot slides forward in the slightest- they are to big, at least for squash- your toes shoudl almost be jammed in the front with no space to the front (thought this shouldnt hurt your toes). I didn't do all of this to a sufficient extent because they do fit rather well- just not well enough for squash and after my first game it was too late.

Otherwise, they are great shoes. SO much cushioning, pivot points on the sole for quick turns, great lacing design. They are a bit on the heavy side but that's a tradeoff for more cushioning (which I think is worth the sacrifice for a litt more weight.)

They get one star off for the price (come on - other stores have them for $85.)

4.0 out of 5 stars Asics Sensei 3, August 17, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I play racquetball at least 3 times a week and needed a good court shoe. Having had previous success with Asics, I did some limited research and decided to give this model a try. So far I am very happy with the shoe's performance. No break in period was required, I had no tender spots on my feet which is typical with a new court shoe. The shoe seems very stable and racquetball certanly test the lateral stability of a shoe. So much so that I need a shoe with primarily leather uppers (mesh just rolls over). Pros outweigh the cons. Just to nit pick a little, the tounge is free floating and you do need to manually center it when lacing. And the last lace position may be a little high for some. Overall, a good performance shoe that might seem slightly over priced. However, if I get the longevity of previous Asics models, this could be a winner.

5.0 out of 5 stars These are great., July 24, 2011
I have been using these shoes for two seasons now and they have been great! I love the feel: They stay comfortable throughout an entire tournament, and have lasted the entire year (which is impressive, considering how often I use them). I play club and I got these shoes through my club at a discount price (because we buy a lot of them) and I have to say, I would buy them for the full price.

Of course no shoe is perfect and there is a trade off- These shoes provide superior support and all day comfort, however they are not as breathable as some shoes. Personally this is not a problem because I sweat in any shoe and have never found mesh shoes to change anything, to me they just get dirty quicker and tear easier. To me it is more important to have a shoe that I feel comfortable and safe in, so that I can play my hardest and not have to worry about rolling my ankle.

I know that some people complain about parts of the shoe not fitting or something, I have not experienced this at all. All the guys on my teams (both club and HS) love the shoe. Maybe it doesn't fit girls well or something. I dunno, fits me great. For me this shoe has no real downsides and I would recommend it to anyone.
