Product Description

In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul.

I bought these to run Tough Mudder. I was looking for shoes with good protection and traction and these deliver on both counts. I spent 4 1/2 hrs. going up and down muddy slick rocky hills and never slipped. The tread pattern on these shoes gives you stunning grip and stability. They also have a protection plate under the forefoot to protect from punctures or rocks which is nice. The only down side I see is they are not the lightest or most flexible shoes, but I guess its a trade off for protection. If you run in rough terrain or wet muddy conditions you wont find a better shoe.

I've been a long time fan of Asic for road shoes. The Gel Attack is light with an aggressive tread, traits that I like in a trail shoe. However this latest model, the 7, seems narrower than usual up front compared to most Asics models. I usually get the standard medium width in Asics, but these I wish I had gone wider. I don't have too many miles on them yet, so I can't speak to the durability. I had issues with the Attack model 6's I had previously. I wore holes in both of them above both big toes, something that normally isn't an issue with me. Asics should beef up the fabric in that area.

I'm a big dude 6'4" and 3 bills, and these shoes are plenty supportive to my weathered feet and ankles. Three thumbs up.

I', 6'2", 285 lbs...kinda wide feet too. Innovate Talons would barely go on my feet, let alone be comfortable to run in, but these Asics are perfect - not a single issue. If you are a big guy and need extra room for your feet, then there are the shoes you want, esp for trail running.

Good shoes as per usual, last pair were attack5, 7's seem narrower in the upper and definitely less sole width, good for running, but maybe not as good as 5's for the bush bash...do AR/Rogaine

Almost 2 years of rock solid stability. I supinate out of most running shoes in months as I'm 200lbs. I run in them occasionally but wear them for everything. The shoe shows minimal wear for the amount I wear them for. I just bought 2 more pairs just to have.

I got this shoe for trail running, which I do a few times a week to augment other cardio workouts. I typically run 45-60 mins and I'm usually on trails that are not smooth - lot's of rocks, roots, gravel, etc. This shoe is great in all conditions. It is definitely not one of the new ultralight trailies and has plenty of protection for all this stuff. It's stiff, but not unreasonably so given the intended use. I like it a lot and would buy it again.

I really like the color of the shoes but they were a bit firm for my taste. I have not been able to truly break them in after several months of use; however, I do not run on trails very often which may be the case. At any rate I have a fairly wide foot and these fit great without squeezing my forefoot. As far as looks, the picture reflects the actual shoe exactly.
