5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing....
as the title says, this shoe is just amazing!

i run 3+ miles 3 or 4 times a week, not only on sidewalks but also on grass and dirt trails, and these are the most comfortable shoes i've ever owned. i have owned about 10 other pairs of asics, but none have been as amazing as this model. the lugs on the bottom DO NOT slip, even on wet grass, and also provide...

2.0 out of 5 stars Slippery on Wet Surfaces
I have to wholeheartedly disagree w/the reviews that say this shoe grips on wet surfaces, but first the positive aspects of the shoe. It is very comfortable and relatively light considering it has a rock plate. Because of the slippery midsole area, I only wear these to work, the gym and for street runs. I will wear them on Jeep road-type runs, if it is dry as the rock...

as the title says, this shoe is just amazing!

i run 3+ miles 3 or 4 times a week, not only on sidewalks but also on grass and dirt trails, and these are the most comfortable shoes i've ever owned. i have owned about 10 other pairs of asics, but none have been as amazing as this model. the lugs on the bottom DO NOT slip, even on wet grass, and also provide lateral traction on un-even surfaces, yet are not disruptive while running on asphalt or concrete. the plastic plate built into the sole is a nice to protect your feet on rocky trails, and yet doesn't seem to negatively affect the overall flexibility or comfort of the shoe.
highly recommended!

2.0 out of 5 stars Slippery on Wet Surfaces, June 20, 2011
I have to wholeheartedly disagree w/the reviews that say this shoe grips on wet surfaces, but first the positive aspects of the shoe. It is very comfortable and relatively light considering it has a rock plate. Because of the slippery midsole area, I only wear these to work, the gym and for street runs. I will wear them on Jeep road-type runs, if it is dry as the rock plate will easily absorb any sharp rocks. In the middle of the forefoot, just behind where your metatarsals begin is a honeycomb grid of black rubber. This compound in combination of the honeycomb design makes this shoe extremely slippery on wet surfaces. I first tried them out on a very technical (rocky, rooty) run and when I hopped off a wet rock, I nearly fell due to the shoe slipping. Being smart I then tested the grip walking and confirmed my fear. The shoe is slick. And what really prompted me to write this review was just today walking into work after a rain up a very slight grade. The shoe slips back even on a sidewalk! Consider the Asics Gel Trabuco for a technical shoe that grips when wet.

5.0 out of 5 stars great shoe, November 28, 2010

I am an avid runner and run anywhere from a few miles to close to 100 miles a week. I have generally avoided trail shows as I wasnt a big fan of the aggressive tread and rock plate for the road running I do but Asics found a nice balance with this shoe.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent, November 23, 2010

I've been using ASICS shoes for five years now, as a member of the United States Armed Forces I'm required to keep in top physical shape which includes uncountable hours of running through not so optimal terrrain, these shoes are amazing, the grip in slippery surfaces and over sand and gravel is great, no complains about this product at all whatsoever.

4.0 out of 5 stars awesome trail shoe, great traction, rock plate, and color, November 1, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This shoe is a good shoe for trail running. I do not recommend for road running. For mixed trail/road get the GT-2150 although the GT-2150 does not have a rock plate.

Short story:
This shoe (Attack 6, and also the Sensor 4) according to the Asics rep, has neutral or no pronation support. This information is not on their website.

Since I wanted moderate pronation support (look for the DuoMax midsole technology) and a rock protection plate, I went with the Trabuco 13. I'll review the Trabuco later after I try it out.

Long story:
I have moderate pronation so I need some moderate mid-sole support. I used to run with the trail GT-2140s and put over 500miles on 2 pairs as I've trained and raced in a few ultra 100 mile marathons. This summer I trained for another ultra 100 and used the Attack 6 shoe but my feet started hurting a lot after the really long runs (+25miles). It hurt so much I thought i had a fractured foot bone or planar faciateous (not sure of spelling). Anyhow, last week I put on my old pair of GT-2140 trail shoes and ran my last 15 mile training run before the 100 miler next week and my foot feels much better.

If you have moderate pronation and need support dont buy this shoe or the Sensor 4. But the Gt-2150 or Trabuco.

I have been running with these shoes for at least 4 days a week, at my third month, on and off road while deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan. They are great, very comfortable on long runs, dry easily and are easily broken in. They are very comparable to other high end Asic Trails that I have in the past.

4.0 out of 5 stars good all rounder, November 23, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
nice looking shoe and I'm a size 14 US with a narrow foot and they fit fine...a little shorter than other brands so if your pushing a 14+ then it might pay to go up a size...they are between a narrow to medium fit in width...good thing is they actually still look good in this size...many 14+ shoes tend to loose their styling as they get up past a 12 but these still hold their look. Comfort is good and I mainly use them for the gym as I have my brooks for running...
