In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul.
One of ASICS' most popular shoe franchises is truly ready for any weather. The ASICS GT-2000 G-TX takes all the great features of the regular GT-2000 and adds a GORE-TEX upper as well as an aggressive, lugged outsole. Upper: P.H.F.(Personal Heel Fit) system features 2 layers of memory foam to line the heel collar and mold to the athlete's heel creating a personalized fit. Mesh upper with synthetic overlays. Textile lining. GORE-TEX upper is waterproof and breathable so your foot is protected during extreme weather conditions.

I wear an 8 1/2 in ASICS shoes, but this one was too tight across the top of my toe joints. My toes had the right amount of room, but I think the shoe is actually a narrow width... Read morePublished 8 months ago by Mona W.
I have been wearing Asics tennis shoes for quite awhile now. I ordered these shoes in my usual size (9 1/2), but found that these run small. I have returned them for a size 10. Read morePublished 8 months ago by Cynthia Huggins
