Product Description

In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul.

I got these for my 6 year old son, they are nice and sturdy but I would order 1 size up. He has a hard time getting them on by himself because they are also pretty narrow. I think I will be going with velcro ones next time.

Awesome shoe. My son loves them and says they are comfortable. I followed the previews reviewers advice and of parents at wrestling to order one size up and it fits perfect. My son is a 3.5 normally and the 4.5 fits perfct with a little space in the front.

I couldn't find any ladies wrestling shoes so I went to a local sporting goods store and tried kids size 5.5. They fit well. I came home and looked around online and found these pair. In the size selection it had "little kid" and "big kid" and that confused me. I took a chance and ordered big kid 5.5. On the box, the label does not indicate big kid or little lid. They fit very well, I was so happy! I also like these lace-up shoes. Asics makes another model with two wide Velcro straps. They cut in to the top of my feet and it hurts.
    I'm happy with my purchase!

I bought these for my son who just started Kung Fu classes. He really likes them and he says they are very comfortable. I recommend this shoe to anyone with a child in wrestling or martial arts. Other reviews said they run small so I bought a size larger than my son usually wears and the fit great with a little room to grow.

Purchased for my son as a replacement pair of wrestling shoes. The sneakers are comfortable and easy for him to put on IF the laces are loosened all the way. The Velcro tongue keeps the tied lace safely secured and does not come open during practice or matches.
