In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. I like this running shoe and the price was right. I have tried many of the Asics and all of the one's I have tried seem to be of the highest quality.
I am a slightly older runner and I get injured more. So far nothing more than occasional aches and pains. This shoe is a great stabilizer. I like the cushioning as well.This shoe weighs more.Better as a trainer than a race shoe. Perhaps I will chose a different one to race in .

My son had seen these shoes in stores, but only in ugly colors. He found them on Amazon and ordering & delivery was easy. He loves how they feel, mom loves how they look. He, like my husband and me, has high arches. They support his arches and are comfortable when he's on his feet all day.
