had the gt-2140 trail from previous year. the current gt-2150 trail is smaller in size, so be sure to get yours at 1/2 size smaller!

5.0 out of 5 stars Asics Review, February 6, 2010

I had been running trails in my running shoes (Asics Gel Nimbus 11) and didn't see that much difference in the tread pattern with the trail runners to warrant another purchase, but was wrong. It's been a very wet, slippery and muddy winter causing many slips and some falls. Doing one very wet, slippery adventure race convinced me that any improvement in traction would be worth it. Preventing one fall with injury easily justifies the cost of a pair of shoes. The increased traction and stability provided with the GT-2150s is incredible and I'm running with more confidence. Great shoes. Now if it would stop raining so much.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet!, November 10, 2010

I'm 6'3" and 235lbs so its like shoeing a mule. This shoe is light and forgiving on the hoofs. I average around 30 mi. a week off-road. It's been a great shoe for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Asics GT2150 trail shoes, August 10, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Extra room in the toe box and a closer fit in the heel fixes the problems I had with the 2140. I recommend a half-size larger if you do long distances to allow for swelling feet (maybe one size larger for some). Good socks are a must, as for any shoe. The laces are flat and stay tied unlike the round laces on the 2140. The sole is sufficiently padded for the road and the support is good for the trail--a good all-around shoe. Many shoes that are "good for both trail and road" are actually so-so for both. I plan to buy another pair to alternate with.

5.0 out of 5 stars great trail running shoe, great running shoe period, October 7, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I run in the foothills just north of Boise, mostly dirt trails, occasional rocks. I have run with these shoes 5-6 times since they arrived a couple weeks ago, and the cushioning and stability are great. Absolutely no soreness in my knees or feet since I started using them, despite higher-than-typical mileage of late for me. Not heavy or "clunky"-feeling like other trail shoes I've had, I'm sure I could run comfortably on pavement as well. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you have flat feet, this is the shoe for You, January 14, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These are my third pair of Asics and by far my favorite. They provide maximum support for my flat feet without buying any insoles like I have done in the past. I reccomend to get at least a 1/2 size bigger in size if you run long distances. These asics are extremely comfortable and durable. They also have a nice look to them which is sometimes hard to find with asics.

My son used this shoe when he hiked the Pacific Crest Trail fro Mexico to Canada. He said he loved it because it was lightweight and sturdy enough to go for about 800 miles through the desert and high sierra mountains.

3.0 out of 5 stars Sole rubber comes off, January 17, 2012

I love these shoes but the rubber sole parts come off. Since these fit so well I keep silicon glue in my house for repairs. I hope asics redesigns these to handle New England rocks.

1.0 out of 5 stars Tried two pairs both had problems, December 4, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I wear a size 13 in all shoes. So I bought a 13 in these. They were the right length but both pairs had a defect in the sewing that rubbed on my little toe. I had to return them both.
