4.0 out of 5 stars Asics Lyteflex 2 Review
My college wrestling team received these shoes exactly one year ago as our team shoe for the 09-10 wrestling season. From day one, these shoes were hit or miss on an individual level. Myself and half the team enjoyed the shoes, while the other half detested them. When I first put on these shoes the zipper was extremely hard to zip up. After a few 30 minute drills the...

2.0 out of 5 stars Look Good, Felt good. But are falling apart.
The Shoes look good. Light. Are easy to get into... The problem lies with the insole. On the inside near the ball of foot, the insole is coming up. It looks up like a fruit roll up. Causes quite a bit of a problem when you are trying to wrestle.. This happened after all of 7 practices.. they might be good for some but they didn't work for us.

After a few 30 minute drills the shoes loosened up nicely to allow for much easier zipping. Although I thought the natural loosening made the shoes very comfortable and easy to zip up, many of the wrestlers quickly retired the shoes and resorted back to shoes with laces so that they could go back to tightening their shoes to their desired tightness level.

Pros:
Well built shoes (lasted a college season with constant use).
Very easy to put on and take off (you can zip them up and be ready to wrestle in no time flat).
Form well to the user's feet, making them very comfortable.

Cons:
Can loosen up too much for some people who like very tight fitting shoes.
Hard to zip up initially.

Moral of these shoes, if you do not require extremely tight shoes, and you don't like the hassle of shoe laces, I would recommend these shoes for you. These are my favorite shoes I've wrestled in, and I am purchasing these shoes again for the upcoming season.

I ordered the wrestling shoes late on a Thursday and received them on Monday. The shoes look incredible... very sharp looking. My son has not used them yet (next week) but he was happy with the appearance of them and how they felt on his foot.

I wanted to buy some new wrestling shoes for my last year in high school and I wanted to buy some wrestling shoes that no other wrestler in the team had, I got to say these look fantastic but they do have their drawbacks like for example they wear out too fast, and maybe its just me but I couldn't move as well as with other wrestling shoes, on the ankle part its too tight and its very displeasing when you wrestle but overall good shoes.

Slick looking shoe runs narrower than any other shoe my sons have tried. Zipper front makes on/off easy but also seems to constrict the width. Beware, even if your foot is a medium width.

These shoes do not hold up very well. The velcro strap came unsewn after being wore in three matches. I do not think they are worth what I paid for them.
