4.0 out of 5 stars Great for Flat Feet
I have been using ASICS running shoes for as long as I can remember. I was previously using the ASICS Gel foundation 8. I decided to move up to the GEL Evolution since I am increasing my mileage. I have no regrets. My feet feel great, despite having flat feet. However, I do use the superfeet arch supports for added comfort. I highly recommend this shoe.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good running shoe for outdoor training
I've had the ASICS Gel Evo 5 for about six months now and I do find it to be a good shoe. I alternate these shoes with Nike Free 2 shoes for outdoor running. It is a fairly neutral shoe with a good solid heel and medium amount of cushion. I find that I tend to heel strike more with this shoe due, I suppose, to the weight distribution - but do keep in mind that this is...

This shoe is amazing for people who have weak ankles as it is motion controlled running shoe. I ordered a half size larger than I have been wearing and it fits great. I have rhemotoid arthritis in my feet and this is the perfect shoe for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Running shoes ever, June 26, 2010

Had my feet professionally checked to find out what kind of shoes I should wear, ASICS Evolution 5 was 1 they recommend. I normally get shin splint since I have flat feet. This shoes definately did the trick. I can run without the pain. Outstanding shoes. I buy 2 at a time so I can rotate them

I had been told by my doctor to get this shoe and the only place selling it was 90 miles away. I was glad to find it on Amazon. It is a great fitting shoe and walking in it is a pleasure.

I've had the ASICS Gel Evo 5 for about six months now and I do find it to be a good shoe. I alternate these shoes with Nike Free 2 shoes for outdoor running. It is a fairly neutral shoe with a good solid heel and medium amount of cushion. I find that I tend to heel strike more with this shoe due, I suppose, to the weight distribution - but do keep in mind that this is when compared to Nike Free shoes which are extremely light and flexible.

Recommended for runners who like to feel that they're connected to the ground/pavement/sidewalk but not stomping on it.

This review is from: ASICS Women's GEL-Evolution 5 Running Shoe (Apparel)
I've been looking for a good walking shoe for years and years. FINALLY I found it in these shoes. They have excellent cushion which make my feet feel better and I can walk further. Roadrunner shoes had them to me within days.

4.0 out of 5 stars Perfectly fit, but a bit hard, February 3, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Although my doctor told me that I am a over-pronator (flat feet), I'd been wearing cushion-typed running shoes for two years and had no problems with my feet. Those shoes are very comfy and soft.

This time, I just thought I should give it a try in case they might be much better than the cushion. So, I was looking for a pair of motion control, wide toe box running shoes for my elliptical machine and (walking) treadmill exercise twice a week. These shoes fit my requirements. I ordered size 11.5 (women) although I'm normally a size 11 because of the availability on Amazon. The size 11 is in normal width while the 11.5 has the wide toe box. They aren't too big. So I am OK with the 11.5. They are pretty comfortable.

One thing that I thought it could have been better is that the soles of the shoes are a bit hard compared to my previous shoes (Nike-cushion). This is my first ASICS and first motion control shoes, so I am not sure if this is normal and what I should expect.

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent Shoe, January 20, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I overpronate severely and ordered this running shoe in hopes that it would put me out of my misery. While the shoe is torlerable, the support could be better. My ankles are not as protected as I had hope they would be; however, I will say that the pain I was enduring at the beginning of my workouts/runs resulting from my Plantar Facitis condition have diminished and this I am attributing to this shoe. I still say that the Brooks Addition or Ariel are the best for totally flat footed people like me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great arch support!, October 15, 2010

This model is my "go-to" shoe. i have very low arches and this shoe has great support. I literally went from hurt knees and practically not being able to walk to getting back on my feet and running and cycling just by wearing these shoes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Healthy Shoes, August 23, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I purchased ASICS Evolution because they were recommended to me by my Physical Therapist. As a result I didn't have a lot of questions. However, I was hesitant to order over the Internet (what if they didn't fit? would returning them be a hassle?) I was pleasantly surprised. The shoes fit nicely, I loved the look of them and liked the mesh material to allow for air. Not only are they attractive but are very comfortable. The only thing I don't like about the mesh material is small bits of dirt or sand can get inside between the mesh and a fine material underneath and it's difficult to remove. But I consider that minor compared to everything else I like about the shoe. CEM
