In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." I really love this shoe. I got it at the beginning of my track season this year. My first reaction was that the white is really bright! Also, my one shoe was discolored to a sort of yellow color on the one side. I didn't want to go through the process of returning it since my shoes get dirty anyway. Once I used these shoes to run, it was a totally different story. I have practically no arch and I get cramps a lot in my feet. Not with these shoes! I could really feel the gel and I didn't get as sore because it took some of the pressure off my legs. Overall, I really love this product, just take note of the bright color!
