5.0 out of 5 stars Great Comfy Shoe, January 16, 2009
These shoes were comfortable from the first time I wore them for a workout. They run true to size, feel very light, but have plenty of support. One of my fitness magazines awarded these as one of the best shoes for cross training (I have used them for doing cardio and resistance DVDs) and so far they seem to be right.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent cushioning for plyometric workouts, March 2, 2011
By
This review is from: ASICS Women's GEL-Intensity Training Shoe (Apparel)
My last few pairs of cross trainers have been Rykas, but I recently decided to try something different, and a friend recommended these. They are probably the most comfortable athletic shoes I have ever owned -- and yet also the most expensive! The extra cost, in my opinion, is definitely worth it.

The gel cushioning makes these so comfortable, especially if you do any sort of workout that involves plyometrics or jumping. I have a tendency towards tendonitis in my right knee, and jumping in these shoes makes such a difference on my knee! They have fantastic arch support and great cushioning throughout the footbed. (The gel in the footbed is what makes these so comfortable.)

I've used them for plyo workouts, weight training, kickboxing, and step, and they work well for all of these workouts.

As for fit, I noticed on the Asics website that they said to go up a half-size in these shoes, and that's exactly what I did with these. I usually wear a 7.5 in "street" shoes and an 8 in athletic shoes, and the 8's in these were perfect; while a 7.5 probably would have fit, the 8 gave me good toe room, but didn't make my feet wiggle or move.

I'm a new convert to Asics shoes, and will definitely be replacing these with another pair when these wear out!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great sneakers but not so good on hard wood floors, June 29, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These sneakers are excellent for plyometrics training, weight lifting and cardio workout on gym equipments. My only issue with it is that it is not really great on hard wood floors because the front part of it gets slippery. Other than that it has excellent support and shock absorption. I would probably pick a different one for aerobic classes on hard wood floor.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Them!, June 24, 2011

I never buy tennis shoes without trying them on but I stepped out on faith due to all the great reviews and I am glad I did. They are super comfortable. They have a nice cushion inside the shoe. I took the advice of some and ordered a half-size up. I think that's good advice, there is a little toe room that way and makes for a good fit. I use these mainly for circuit training at Curves and they work great.I highly recommend them, definitely worth $80.

5.0 out of 5 stars These shoes deserve 5 billion stars., March 21, 2011

That's right. They are the BEST. CROSSTRAINING. SHOE. EVER. MADE.
I love these puppies--slip your foot in. They hug it perfectly. Even if it's wide. The offset lacing adds extra support. The great, hard-plastic arch is so supportive. When you jump, you land safely, soundly, happily. If I could, I would wear these every moment of my life. In the shower, to bed, to work, to work out, to meet with friends...seriously. They are that amazing.

Buy them. Or you're lame.

5.0 out of 5 stars The shoes are awesome, September 27, 2010

These shoes are great for aerobics and weight training...not so much for the treadmill. Having a foot injury, I am very careful about the shoes I wear. These shoes have enough cushion to allow me to get through some pretty tough workouts without even worrying about the injury. The only downside is that the laces could be a tad bit longer.

5.0 out of 5 stars love it!, November 1, 2011

My 6yr old barely used pair of Asics Gel Nimbus crumbled on me during a kickboxing class (i haven't been exercising in years so i kindda expected it to happen) so I decided to purchase this model, after reading several good reviews.
When i received them, I was so delighted!
The cherry red is so pretty and the shoe is lighter than the old pair I had.
I'm so pleased with them and can't wait to try them out for my next class.
I bought them in my regular size 7.5 and it fits well with a pair of socks.
The shoes looked slightly larger than my regular 7.5 casual shoes so it looked like they had factored in the socks space.
Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Comfy and Supportivr, September 4, 2011

Bought these to replace my worn out Asics 260 TR. These are stiffer but not uncomfortable. Very supportive too. I wear these 3-6 times a week to the gym. I do weight training along with elliptical, treadmill, and biking. I'm not a class person so I can't comment on how they fare on wooden floors. I am very happy with these. I have a narrow foot and wear Superfeet orthotics and these fit perfectly. These have great cushioning on the treadmill walking hills as well as no more numb toes on the elliptical. No break in required. These are great for lateral lunges and squats on the Bosu. No more turned ankles!

4.0 out of 5 stars Sizing up = too large for me, but comfy shoe, August 20, 2011

While I haven't had the chance to try this during a workout, I will say that my initial feelings are that they are VERY cushioned and comfortable just while walking around the house.

I took the advice of several websites and a bunch of reviews and ordered up a 1/2 size - I should have just ordered my usual size 7 because the 7 1/2 were much too big. Maybe size up if you wear very thick socks or have wide feet, but if you have narrow feet and are usually a true size __, order you normal size. Just re-ordered in a size 7 and can't wait to get them so I can really try them out.

My only real concern is that there is some rubbing on my outer ankle bone, but I seem to experience this with most running/training shoes. I'm thinking that with my usual size, the rubbing will be lessened.
