In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Love the shoe. I am an Asics fan for Running shoes and they have now won me over for a tennis shoe. Very stable shoe but flexible and comfortable. Have worn them several times and no pressure points or pain.

Happy to have found finally ASICS Tennis shoes as well in the US as you cannot buy them at local (tennis) stores here. They even tell you that ASICS doesn't produce tennis shoes! I love them, great fit, narrow along the sides and at the toes.

I love these tennis shoes! I have run is ASICS running shoes for several years. I was delighted to spot these ASICS tennis shoes at the Indian Wells tennis tournament a couple years ago. I thought they looked sleak and flexible, more like a running shoe than tennis shoe so I went home and ordered them online. They are fantastic! They are stable but also light and comfortable and they do not require a break in period. I am so glad I found these!
