2.0 out of 5 stars OK Shoe - Not for high arches, July 7, 2011

I wore this shoe for over a full year. The main purpose of this shoe was for me to use during the Atlanta 2-day Walk for Breast Cancer. I trained in this shoe for a good 6 months before having to use it for the walk. During the training portion, I routinely got calf cramps and my heels/ankles would lock up. I tried lacing these shoes different, different insoles, you name it. Finally after about a good 2 months, the shoes loosened up enough that it stopped giving me so much trouble - or my feet/calves/ankles just adjusted.

During the walk, I did feel quite a bit of foot pain around mile 15 in the ball of the foot. At mile 18.5 I developed blisters on both of my feet at the ball of my foot under my toes. I was one of the luckier ones. Most people developed the blisters and foot pain way before this point.

Recently I bought a pair of Sauconys and I LOVE them. It definitely caters more to my high arch, underpronation, and random heel/Achilles pain much, much better than this pair of Asics.

This shoe is not good for people with high arches, tend to underpronate, can have heel/Achilles pain, run, or walk for long distances.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great shoe for the price, March 23, 2010

These are very comfortable shoes, with a lot of support in the middle and plenty of room in the toe. I've worn them to do aerobics 3 or 4 times now and my only issue is that they are a little high in the back and rub on my ankles. I think this is just an issue of breaking them in a bit more and maybe wearing some higher socks to protect my skin in that area. I would definitely recommend for someone on a tight budget looking for a good athletic shoe.

This is my 2nd pair of asics. The first pair I had I fell in love with them, and wore them until the sole design fell off, which was about 2.5 years. I work out regularly, and they are absolutely comfortable, give great support, and withstand alot of wear. These shoes stand up their ancient history promoting overall wellness, starting feet first. Exceptional buy.
